About the Project
Chicas Pistoleras is a story about growing up, losing your way, and finding yourself again. It’s about that moment when you realize you’re no longer who you used to be, but you’re not quite sure who you want to be either.
Through Carla, we follow someone going through a creative, emotional, and professional slump just before turning 26. When she rediscovers her old school uniform, she is transported back to a very specific memory: field trips, the dynamics among classmates, and those figures who, when you’re little, seem to have it all figured out. In her case, the “Chicas Pistoleras,” a group of older students who embodied a way of being that she admired from afar.
The short film addresses something very relatable: the feeling of not quite fitting in, of comparing yourself to others and feeling like you’re one step behind, both as a child and as an adult. But it also speaks to the possibility of coming to terms with yourself and understanding that there is no single right way to be or to live.

Visually, the story shifts between two time periods. On the one hand, there is childhood, portrayed through a more nostalgic and emotional lens. On the other, there is the present, with a warmer atmosphere that hints at the possibility of change. Our goal is for the viewer not only to identify with Carla, but to leave the short film with a sense of hope.

About Us
Behind Chicas Pistoleras are Celia Pérez Gil (director and screenwriter), Sílvia Font, and Karissa Estrada (producers)—three creators with training and experience in the audiovisual and cultural fields who met during a production course at ECAM, where this team began to take shape.
Celia is an emerging filmmaker trained at various institutions such as ECAM, ESCAC, the London Film Academy, and TAI. She has developed several of her own projects, including the video essay Siempre estamos en guerra (We Are Always at War), selected for the Notodo Film Fest, and her first short film, Karma. Her work focuses on exploring intimate stories through a generational lens.
Sílvia is a producer and cultural manager. She completed her training in production and project development at institutions such as ECAM, ESCAC, and the RTVE Institute, and has worked at festivals as the Marseille Film Festival, the Seville Film Festival, and the FCAT, participating in industry activities, programming, and production.
Karissa is a producer and photographer, initially trained in marketing and later in film in Guatemala, where she has worked on independent projects and been part of initiatives such as the ÍCARO Festival and the MILPAS collective of women filmmakers. She is currently developing her audiovisual work in Madrid.
In addition, we have already assembled a technical team made up of young, experienced professionals, many of whom are ECAM alumni or in the final years of their training, which ensures we have a well-prepared and highly committed team.
How we will use your contributions
We need your help to fully fund the project and make it a reality. The funds raised will primarily go toward covering the cost of two locations we’ve already booked—a bus and a bar—which are essential to the short film. Additionally, a portion will be allocated to art materials to build the story’s visual universe, and to renting sound equipment, which is key to ensuring high technical quality.
If we exceed the minimum goal, we will allocate the extra funds to festival distribution, both nationally and internationally, and to enhancing post-production (particularly in sound and color) so that the short film can reach a wider audience in the best possible condition.
Planned Schedule
The short film is currently in pre-production, and filming will take place from June 19–22, 2026 in Madrid.
April: Launch of the crowdfunding campaign and casting process
May: Selection of actresses and rehearsals
June: Final rehearsals and filming
July and August: Editing and post-production
September: Premiere
The delivery date for rewards will vary depending on the reward. Those that do not require the completion of the short film will be delivered after filming, in late June, while the rest will be delivered after the premiere, in September.
Get exclusive rewards
We’ve put together a series of rewards as a way to thank you for your support and give you an inside look at the project.
Some of the rewards, such as the poster and the tote bag, are designed based on the visual universe of Chicas Pistoleras. Others, such as the script, will be available exclusively through the campaign and will include notes from the director, offering a glimpse into the creative process behind the story.

Likewise, the premiere invitations are intended as an opportunity to share the short film with the team and with everyone who has been part of the project from the very beginning.
Physical rewards will be delivered in June, after filming, and will preferably be handed over in person in Madrid, Málaga, or Barcelona. If you’re in another city on the peninsula, we’ll take care of shipping it so it arrives at your home.
