WHAT IS BABY OFF BOARD?

Baby Off Board is a dramatic comedy (dark comedy) born in ESCAC that follows a group of young people in a key moment of their lives: the step in adulthood.

The story unfolds as a short footage of approximately 15 minutes, combining humor and drama to explore, from a close and honest look, the decisions that mark the end of a stage.

With this campaign we seek funding to be able to carry out the project with the necessary resources and tell this story with the quality it deserves.

THE PROJECT

Addressed to a young public, Baby Off Board follows four friends from a small village who commit an end-of-year trip before starting college.

But there is a secret: one of them, Isa, has become pregnant on her first time and wants to abort before leaving. To prevent their parents from discovering it, the journey becomes a constant search for a place where no one knows them.

What begins as a getaway is transformed into a traject full of tensions, humor, doubts and uncomfortable conversations. Along the way, characters face decisions that force them to grow faster than they expected.

TOPICS AND APPROACH

Baby Off Board addresses topics such as:

• The pass from adolescence to adult life

• Friendship in times of crisis

• Making difficult decisions

• Sexuality and its consequences

• The fear of growing up and leaving behind a stage of life

STYLE AND TONE

The proposal combines comedy and drama, using humor as a tool to address sensitive issues without losing depth.

The tone oscillates between light and emotional, building a close, generational and sincere story. The story is based on the naturalness of the characters and the dynamics of the group to generate both identification and reflection.

We are a team of ESCAC students who currently develop audiovisual projects in different areas such as direction, script, production, photography and editing.

Each contribution allows us to approach a production more careful and coherent with the project proposal.
