WHAT IS JUNE?

June is an sports and youth drama born in ESCAC, which unfolds as a 5-episode miniseries and explores the world of elite sport from an emotional, contemporary, and gender-focused perspective.

The story a young woman who dreams of becoming the best athlete, facing a life-changing decision: how far is she willing to go to meet her goals?

With this campaign we seek financing to be able to develop the first chapter/concept of the project with the necessary resources and bring this story to the screen with the quality it deserves.

THE PROJECT

The project aimed at a young audience (+14) follows: June, an 18 year old athlete whose identity revolves entirely around performance. Her life is defined by constant competition to surpass herself, in an environment marked by family pressure: a former elite father and a mother who gave up her career to start a family.

Everything changes with the arrival of Aaron, a new athlete who equals – and exceeds – his performance without giving up his personal life. This clash of ways of understanding success destabilizes June and raises a possibility that she had never considered: perhaps it's not necessary to sacrifice everything.

As they get to know each other, June lets her guard down, and this affects her performance. From that moment on, she is forced to choose between two incompatible paths. June faces her greatest fear: repeat the fate of her mother.

Each contribution helps us to approach a more polished, coherent and professional production with the visual proposal of the project. Our intention is to submit this project to festivals.
