There are stories that are born from the heart, and others that are born from the need to be understood.

This is one of them.

Today I am launching a new illustrated children’s book that speaks about what many children experience inside and what is rarely explained out loud.

Luma and the Pencil That Drew in the Air is a story about the silent struggle, sensitivity, and the beauty of feeling different.

Will you join me in making it possible?

“Luma and the Pencil That Drew in the Air” is the title of this new book.

Luma is autistic, lives with OCD and anxiety, and the world is not always an easy place for her.

At school, sometimes OCD appears without warning. Repetitive thoughts arrive. Restlessness grows. The need for everything to be perfect becomes overwhelming.

Even though her handwriting is beautiful, Luma never sees it as good enough.

And while she tries to correct, erase, and start again, she is also trying to make sure no one notices what is happening inside.

Luma expresses how she feels through words, gestures, and small rituals that help her manage what is going on within her.

“Luma and the Pencil That Drew in the Air” is the second book in the collection The Emotional Journey of Luma. Each story accompanies a different emotion and offers a gentle and symbolic perspective on what many children experience in silence.

The stories can be read independently, but together they form a unique emotional journey.

Before this new book, there was a first story that began Luma’s emotional journey.

Luma and the Flower That Knew How to Listen was the beginning of this path. In it, Luma learns to recognize what she feels and to understand that her emotions are not a problem she needs to hide, but a valuable part of who she is.

This first story set the tone for the collection: a gentle, symbolic, and respectful look at sensitivity, difference, and the inner world of many children.

Below, you can see a few pages from the first book and discover how this journey began.

Luma is a girl who experiences the world differently. She perceives sounds that others do not notice, sees colors in emotions, and senses changes in the environment as if they were invisible messages.

The collection The Emotional Journey of Luma was created to give voice to that inner experience that many children live in silence. It is not only the story of a different girl, but a reflection of all those who have ever felt out of rhythm with the world.

Each book explores a specific emotion through a symbolic and sensory perspective. Through gentle metaphors and everyday scenes, the reader enters Luma’s inner experience and learns to understand without having to judge.

Across nine stories, Luma grows, loves, doubts, becomes dysregulated, rebuilds herself, and learns to let go. The result is a deeply human collection, an emotional journey that speaks of equilibrium, understanding, and acceptance.

These stories do not only help children calm down. They teach them to recognize what they feel, to respect their own rhythms, and to look at the world with tenderness.

Luma’s journey is an inner path that connects with the reality of many sensitive children and adults, the need to be understood, the invisible effort of self regulation, and the value of feeling differently.

Luma is such a special girl that sometimes it feels as if the world becomes too small for everything she carries inside. She is joyful, playful, and warm.

She is attentive and intelligent, and she is constantly creating. One moment she can turn a simple piece of paper into an impossible scooter, the next she invents stories that leave you speechless. Her imagination never rests.

She loves dressing up, and her laughter… her laughter is the most beautiful sound in the world. She does not sleep much, but she turns the night into an adventure. She always finds something to do with you, something to discover, something to imagine.

She loves sweets, chocolate, and anything with a little sparkle. She has only one friend, but she cares for that friend as if they were her greatest treasure.

She is sincere, sensitive, very polite, honest, kind, and affectionate.

When you speak with her, she seems older than she is. She says truths so clear that you cannot argue with them. And watching her think like that is simply astonishing.

Becoming a backer means becoming part of the force that brings this new story to life. Thanks to your support, Luma will continue to grow.

You will receive the illustrated children’s book before anyone else and gain access to special rewards created with great care for this campaign. These include the first Luma book in digital format and an exclusive art print designed especially for those who are part of this project.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.

Being a backer is not only about supporting a book. It is about becoming part of a story that can change perspectives and help many children feel understood.

Creating an illustrated book from scratch is a long, delicate, and financially demanding process. It is not just about writing a story, it is about building a complete universe with care and coherence in every detail.

After producing the first Luma book, I understood the true scope of what it involves: writing, professional editing, revisions, visual development, page by page illustrations, color testing, technical adjustments, typography selection, layout design, print ready file preparation, and logistical planning.

This also includes legal registrations, ISBN codes, the creation of the original song, music production, audiobook recording, and professional narration.

Each stage requires time, dedication, and financial resources. That is why your contributions are essential for this second book to be created with the quality it deserves.

Contributions will help cover:

  • Editorial procedures and legal registrations.

  • Professional illustration and layout design.

  • Creation of the original song and audiobook production.

  • Printing costs.

  • Production of rewards, materials, and shipping

  • Verkami platform commission.

Transparency, quality, and respect for the creative process are essential pillars of this project.

The planned timeline for the development of the project is as follows:

March 2026

Launch of the Verkami campaign.

April to May 2026

Text revision and professional editing.

June to September 2026

Illustrations and complete book layout.

Song production and audiobook editing.

September to October 2026

Sending the book to print and supervising print proofs.

November 2026

Receiving copies, preparing rewards, and shipping to backers.

I am a brave person and I do not give up easily.

I am the mother of a neurodivergent girl I am deeply proud of. She is my motivation and also my greatest teacher.

I began writing as a way to release what I was carrying inside, because although I love my life, it is not always easy. There are intense days, exhausting days, days when you need to put into words everything you hold within in order to keep moving forward.

Since I was little, I have been a dreamer. I have always created stories and worlds in my mind. Imagination has been my way of understanding what I felt and giving meaning to what I was living.

The Universe of Luma was born from the need to tell and transform lived experience into words, to express what many of us feel inside, what so many children and adults experience in silence.

I do not just write stories. I write so that someone, somewhere, feels understood.
