1. About us...
Hello! We are EGERIA, a female quartet dedicated to medieval music (some of you may already know us!).
The ensemble was founded by Lucía Martín-Maestro Verbo and Fabiana Sans Arcílagos, singers and researchers deeply in love with these repertoires. For this project, we are joined by wonderful collaborators: Ileana Ortíz and Julia Marty.
Our goal is clear: to make medieval music resonate today in a living, accessible, and vibrant way.
To date, we have performed more than 135 concerts in Spain, France, Mexico, Lithuania, Belgium, Mozambique, and Gabon, proudly sharing medieval musical heritage across international stages.
Our first album, Imperatrix Agatha, brought us great joy and received:
• MIN Award – Best Classical Album
• GEMA Audience Award – Best Early Music Album
Now, we want to take the next step and embark on the adventure of a second album. Will you join us?

2. What do we want to do?
We want to release our second album, entitled Journey to the World of Wonders.
This program shows that medieval music was never static: it traveled, crossed borders, and transformed itself.
Today, we want it to travel once again — and that is why we are preparing this album. But to make it a reality, we need your support.

3. Why is this album special?
This album was born from a program that is very close to our hearts and has profoundly shaped our artistic journey.
In 2024, Journey to the World of Wonders received the FestClásica Seal Award, leading us to tour major festivals throughout Spain.
The project proposes an imaginary journey to the East, inspired by two mythical figures: Egeria and Marco Polo.

4. About the repertoire...
The repertoire revolves around traveling pieces, works that found their place far from where they were originally conceived:
• Gregorian chant reaching China
• Syriac Maronite chant arriving in Europe
• Norman music written in Sicily and traveling to the Iberian Peninsula
• Hispanic manuscripts preserved outside their place of origin
All the work of recovery, editing, and research has been carried out by us directly from the original manuscripts.
Many of these works are previously unrecorded and have remained silent for centuries, but this album will bring them back into the present.

5. Why crowdfunding?
We believe in a community-based cultural model.
In an increasingly uncertain and challenging world for artistic creation, being able to continue making music and developing projects like this one is both a great privilege and a great responsibility.
In this context, patrons are not just financial supporters: you are an essential part of the artistic ecosystem, making its very existence possible.
Thanks to crowdfunding, we can:
• Work with full artistic freedom
• Care for every detail of the process
• Avoid decisions driven by financial urgency
As a patron, you are not just supporting the project: you are part of it.
This album will also be yours.

6. How will we use the contributions?
All contributions will be entirely invested in:
Technical production of the album:
• Recording studio rental
• Recording engineer / producer
• Mixing and mastering
• Performers’ fees

Album release:
• Album design and manufacturing
• Photography
• Text translation
• Record label
• Distribution
• Communication and promotion campaign
• Album release event

Logistics:
• Performers’ travel
• Accommodation and meals during recording sessions
• Shipping albums to patrons
• Preparation of patrons’ rewards

7. Rewards for patrons
Every contribution is incredibly valuable to us, and you may choose the amount freely.
That said, we have designed different **rewards **according to contribution level, in order to thank each patron appropriately for their support.
