WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO?

Borgomatto is much more than an event. Borgomatto is an experience to enjoy live … During two days the Old Center Village of Gragnola will be transformed into Borgomatto with scenographies , street theater, shows, music and artistic handcrafts, dance and music for adults and children, with special attention in the choice of artisans (games of wit, wooden toys with recycled materials, etc). A circus tent will be built in the middle of the village and you will meet strange characters in the narrow streets.

There will also be circus workshops and children's theater under the tent and the opportunity to eat local, organic produce with shows put on by the producers themselves.

THE ENTRY WILL BE FREE ALONG WITH THE REST OF ACTIVITIES

The festival was founded in 2012 by the company Nanirossi, composed by Matteo and Elena, who have lived in Gragnola for two years with the help of various associations such as Arte Matta, Lotus and the Ass. storico culturale La valle dell'Aquila.

The principle of the festival is to valorize the art, culture and respect for the values ​​of exchange, sharing and listening to each other by providing educational principles of preservation of the territory and its cultural and artistic heritage.

Also reconnect the distances, created over the years, between consumer and producer, by creating a direct and conscious contact with what we buy.

In the program there will be a section dedicated to local artists as a way to send a message to the international festivals' programs while also creating an incentive to utilize artistic talents of Lunigiana.

The second edition of Borgomatto is planned for 18-19 May 2013.

WHY ARE WE ON VERKAMI?

Borgomatto is completely independent and self-financed. We do not receive any public funding, but the festival was born thanks to the spirit of cooperation that has been created between the various associations who take part and, of course, the villagers of Gragnola. This year is also a special year for the area east of Lunigiana because in November due to heavy rains some countries, including  Gragnola , were flooded. Following this event, the bridge of the main road that leads to Gragnola fell, bringing the little businesses in the area on his knees.

As a cause for this difficult situation, we ask anyone who wants to finance and make our project a reality.

With the Crowfounding campaign we would like to finance part of the costs of Borgomatto 2013: the street art festival that takes place in Gragnola, in the municipality of Fivizzano (MS) in Lunigiana. In particular, the costs for the artists, the rent of the tent and advertising expenses.

THIS YEAR WE ASK FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO GROW OUR PROJECT

Last year we organized the first edition of Borgomatto that despite the bad weather, counted more than 3000 presences (including many children).

The funds collected through Verkami will help us to consolidate the structure of the festival by:

1. investing more on the communication and promotion

2. paying professionals who until now have supported the festival with their free work: graphic and web designers, photographers, videographers, technicians, chefs, locations staff, organizers, art directors and various collaborators.

3. improving the technical and logistics equipment of the festival.

We have been active in entertainment for nearly 10 years with our street art company Nanirossi, performances, with street art children's theater, circus events and performance and with the experience collected we will develop the event over the years.
