The Origin
It all begins with an informal conversation after a session: “Do you know of any documentaries about Ecstatic Dance in Spain?” “No?” “I’d love to film everything that happens on the dance floor.” That’s when I began to feel the need to fill that gap — to show the world what we experience in an Ecstatic Dance session. Something that goes beyond dancing. A wordless journey, with heightened senses, to connect with oneself and with others.
An audiovisual adventure embarked upon by an ecstatic dancer, Marta Alonso, and the pioneer of Ecstatic Dance in Europe, DJ Albert Pala.

What Will It Be?
This documentary portrays, through two Ecstatic Dance sessions, what is experienced on the dance floor. No judgments, no shoes, no alcohol or substances — everyone dances as they are. It becomes a space of freedom and movement, guided by the music.
A sonic experience that allows participants to journey deep into their emotions, reaching a state of ecstasy.

To explain this journey, we will feature the testimonies of more than 15 participants; the voice of the Ecstatic Dance facilitator, Gabriela AbunDanza; music therapist and singer of the band Gossos, Natxo Tarrés; and the pioneer of Ecstatic Dance in Europe, DJ Albert Pala.

The soundtrack of this adventure brings together the collaboration of Jaguar Tree, Manu Om, Peter Power, Intiche, Pascal de Lacaze, Tikki Masala, JPatterson, Kalya Scintilla, Nurieli, Orange, Master Margherita, Temple Step, and Yopi & Lotta, among others.
Help Us Finish Our Documentary!
This September, we began filming the documentary through self-funding, and now we need to raise money to:
Recover part of the initial investment made during filming.
Complete the editing of the documentary.
Finish the sound and color post-production.

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to sharing our story with the world.
Join us and let’s dance together toward the premiere!

Shall We Dance Together? Meet Us:
Marta Alonso G., Director
She holds a degree in Journalism and has studied Image and Sound. A storyteller, she has directed various socially-themed documentaries that have aired on regional and local television in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, such as “La vida dolça”, available on Filmin, “Sentir i Guarnir”, and L’última impressió, a short film selected for the VOC and Som Cinema festivals. A music lover, in recent years she has been exploring conscious dance — a practice she now wishes to share through this documentary.

DJ Albert Pala
Albert Calle, known as DJ Albert Pala, is passionate about music, dance, and nature. He discovered techno culture and began dedicating himself to the art of DJing. Around the turn of the century, he experienced an inner transformation and developed an interest in studying altered states of consciousness. He introduced Ecstatic Dance to Europe from his hometown, Barcelona, and created the first DJ facilitator training for this discipline in Spain. In addition, he has shared his knowledge and experiences through a book and continues teaching and guiding future DJs, while spreading his music.

Aïda Torrent, Director of Photography
She studied Communication at Universitat Blanquerna and Cinematography at ESCAC. She has worked as a cinematographer in both films and documentaries, and has also directed documentaries and a fiction series. She is a founding partner of the production company Camille Zonca, where she leads the conception and visual aspects of most of the projects produced.

Xakin (DJ Nekken)
He selected the documentary’s music alongside DJ Albert Pala. He has loved dancing and enjoying music for as long as he can remember. In 2016, he began facilitating Ecstatic Dance sessions, establishing a monthly rhythm in Ibiza and bringing this experience to the mainland and various corners of Europe. In Ecstatic Dance sessions, he explores music freely, without being tied to genres, sharing his full musical repertoire with participants.

Project Timeline
The editing phase will take place during December, January, and February, during which the audiovisual material will be selected and refined to ensure consistency and quality of content.
Subsequently, in March and April, the post-production stage will be carried out, including color correction, sound mixing, visual effects, and all final adjustments necessary for delivering the project in its definitive version.
The project premiere is expected in May, once all editing and post-production phases are completed, ensuring the work reaches the audience in its optimal form.
