My new album

Raíces en el aire is the new CD I am working on.

It is a compilation of short hymns that invite us to inhabit our bodies and solitude, using music as a healing tool. An auditory narrative that pierces, that makes us question, that invites us to introspection, that drives creativity.

Limits, Solitude, Duality, Presence are some of the titles that make up this album.

Where did it come from?

These compositions began to take shape two years ago. It all started after a profound break with music. For a while, I distanced myself from it, as if we had lost our common language.

After going through that process, I wrote a love song to music. It was my way of building a bridge, of telling it that I still needed it. And so, little by little, I began to reconcile myself with it.

Why Raíces en el aire?

Raíces en el aire (Roots in the Air) refers to that feeling of being anchored in multiple places at the same time, like a subtle and profound connection with the elements that surround us. It is a balance between the solid and the ethereal, a dance between rootedness and freedom.

Lyrics teach me, sustain me, transform me. They are like mantras that help me move forward, understand, and continue creating.

Who I am?

My name is Sonia Manso. I was born 27 years ago in Segovia and have been living in Granada for the last three years.

I have been involved in music for six years, mostly self-taught.

This is my third musical work, and I feel it is the most mature, tender and natural I have created so far.

Work team

I am fortunate to be surrounded by professionals who help my project grow.

On this occasion, I recorded the guitars and vocals at R-26 Studio in Pully (Switzerland) with Bastien Montal (recording and mixing).

Other musicians who participated in this album are Cristobal Salvador (clarinets), Beatriz Vela (transverse flute) and Eric Kopetz (double bass)

The two music videos we are working on will be directed and filmed by Köksal Içoz

There is still a lot of work ahead and many decisions to be made, so I need your help to make this happen.
