Fans of De La Purissima who have already been seduced by our art now have the opportunity to share it with their friends and family by making them a patron of the album ‘LO QUE NO VOY A CENAR ESTA NOCHE’ this Christmas. Along with a copy of the album once it is completed in February, the recipient’s name will also appear in the credits. Unlike any traditional gift, this is one that will keep on giving: the suspense is sown now, and maintained with regular updates until our final launch date. Your loved ones will receive an email with details of the gift: what they have contributed to, how they will be recognised and, of course, details on how to receive their album once it is completed.
WHAT IS CONTEMPORARY CUPLÉ?
Over the course of three intense years, we have thrown ourselves, both dramatically and musically, into the investigation and evolution of the passionate world of cuplé. We have since written 10 of our own cuplés combining the essence of cuplé’s original character with genres such as jazz, cumbia and waltz to create a personal language rich in quality music and lyrics without taboo.
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH YOUR MONEY?
Your money will be used exclusively to pay for the recording, production and distribution of our first album ‘LO QUE NO VOY A CENAR ESTA NOCHE’. It will directly cover the costs for the studio, the sound engineers, the recording, the editing and post-production of the CD. If we are unable to reach our target to raise the sum of €4500, the project will NOT go ahead and your card will NOT be charged.
WHEN WILL THE ALBUM BE LAUNCHED?
On the 4th February, De La Purissima will start recording the album at **ARCO DEL VALLE. Work will continue on the post-production of the album (the editing, the mixing, the packaging etc.) until the end of this month. At this point, you, our fans and patrons, will be able to unwrap the final part of your gift: ‘Lo Que No Voy A Cenar Esta Noche’, complete with your name in credits, granting you the pleasure of De La Purissima whenever you wish from the comfort of your own home.

Our ship left a port in Madrid, one named (of course) for a man: JOSE ALFREDO. We embarked upon a journey that saw us dock at ten wild and different islands. As we confessed: we have sinned. And thus, for each island a man was named: LUCA, EL CORDOBÉS, HÉRCULES, CHAPERO, SHERLOCK HOLMES, ROCKERO, ROLANDO…. ten men who provoked ten songs.
BIOGRAPHY
De La Purissima was formed in 2009 when actress and singer Julia de Castro and bass player and composer Miguel Rodrigáñez met They hit it off during a jam session when they discovered a mutual passion for jazz, classical music and early twentieth century spanish cabaret music or as we say in spanish CUPLÉ.They decided to develop a project that allows jazz to mix different cultural elements in search of a unique sound. This type of music brings together scenic improvisation and a fearless Mediterranean flavour in its lyricism, which merges the words of a Spanish woman who lived at the beginning of the century with a contemporary harmony.
