Let’s Take Off!

Welcome! I’m Joan Baró, musician and actor, and I’m getting ready to fly solo with my first album and a van to take it everywhere!

With your support, I’ll have the funds to make it happen and even more importantly, I’ll have the artistic family joining me on this adventure!

This journey comes after years of playing in various bands and performing with many theatre companies*, after traveling the world and returning home.

This time, I’m starting again but under my own name, with my own songs, on my own unique journey, The Fantastic Journey. I’d love for you to join me!

The Album and More!

Do you know that place between sleep and wakefulness, where we were kids and will always remain so? Where adventures are left behind as we grow older? That’s where I’m heading, to gather the memories of my life and put them into an album.

My very first album as Joan Baró.

I’ll also include a bunch of beautiful songs I’ve never recorded in a studio, songs I’ve long wanted to share more and better!

But beyond the album, by joining the Fantastic Journey, you’ll also receive digital access to all the songs I’ll record throughout the year, even those that won’t be on the album.

The Fantastic Journey Tour

Even more important than making an album is sharing the songs with my artistic family.

That’s why I’m offering an exclusive concert for backers, as well as all the other performances I already offer -and love- at special prices and conditions! Here’s a list of proposals so you can pick what suits you best.

If you choose any of these shows, we can schedule it anytime until June 16th, 2026, when the Fantastic Journey will wrap up with a big final party!

• The Fantastic Journey: The main proposal of this campaign. An exclusive concert for backers with a unique singer-songwriter setlist centered on songs written by me, featuring new and rarely heard songs, plus some of my classics.

• Joan Baró in Concert: A selection of traditional songs that have stayed with me over the years. You can choose whether you want more Catalan folk, or more Celtic music (mostly from Ireland and Scotland). Or a blend of both!

• The Wandering Musician’s Journey: (Only available in catalan for now) A musical-theatrical show, around 35 minutes long. Recommended for all audiences ages 4+. Performed unplugged, in a beautiful and cozy setting if possible! Here’s the intro text to give you an idea: Joan Baró and music have been one since he was a child: he started playing with music, dancing to songs and traditional rhythms. He first learned the melodies around him, then reached beyond and eventually decided to never stop. This is a glimpse into his journey, a journey that’s still ongoing… The Wandering Musician’s Journey.*

• Dance Session with Joan Baró: A lively gathering to dance traditional dances from around the world! I teach each dance and then we dance together — it works best with a good crowd! If you already know them, I can just play live music to dance to!

• Singing Session with Joan Baró: Like in the old days a singalong with traditional songs, as we did in taverns, around meals, or with friends and family.

• Traditional Song Workshop: I’ll teach you and your group, community, or audience some easy-to-learn traditional songs for any occasion.

• Improvised Song Workshop: (Only available in catalan for now) Improvised singing is a branch of traditional music where the lyrics are made up on the spot a very special experience! I love doing it, and I love teaching it too.

The Final Party!

On June 16th, 2026, we’ll throw the Final Party of this campaign somewhere in Catalonia (probably in the western part of Catalunya) where we can finally meet (or meet again)! Whatever the case, it will be a joy to celebrate the end of this wonderful adventure together.

Where Do Your Contributions Go?

• Your support will mainly go toward getting a van that I can use for gigs — and to live in during long tours away from home.
  
  If you know of one that’s a good fit, it would be magical to find it thanks to my artistic family!

• Another big chunk will cover travel expenses, album production, rewards, merch, etc.

• I’ll also buy a battery-powered speaker for my small-scale performances on the road.

• Part of the money goes to Verkami’s commission — which they absolutely deserve for their great work!

• And lastly, some of it will go to taxes — yes, the state takes its share too.

Planned Timeline

The Fantastic Journey has already begun.

This year I’ll be collecting, writing, refining, and recording the songs for my first album — preparing them to share with you via the exclusive concert, the final party, or the album itself.

I’ll deliver the rewards in person at the final party.

If you can’t make it, we’ll meet at another event or concert and I’ll give you your rewards then!

The Journey Rewards!

There are all kinds of rewards! Let me walk you through them! Most of the rewards are performances. I'm excited to bring you the music I’ve been working on, which marks the first step on this solo journey. Of course, I’m also offering you physical copies of my debut album, which will be ready by the end of the campaign, on June 16, 2026.

I’m also offering exclusive treasures like stickers, T-shirts—so you can carry the Fantastic Journey with you wherever you go! You can even get my original drawings, which I’m selling to help fund the project! The digital version of the album will also be included with every contribution!

IMPORTANT: Since many of the rewards are performances the prices are relatively high. I recommend teaming up with friends so you can bring me to wherever you’d like! If you share the cost of a reward it becomes much more affordable and the celebration is even better when it’s shared. The more, the merrier!

In fact, travel expenses can also be shared. If you know someone in your area who also wants to book a concert around the same dates, you can make the most of the same trip—I'll already be in the neighborhood!

I like what you're offering to those in spirit, but I also want to attend the exclusive party and final concert happening on June 16, 2026, somewhere in Catalonia (even Joan doesn’t know where yet!).

SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED!

I want everything mentioned above, but also the physical copy of the album—to see it, hold it, and treasure it! Word is, it will be a limited edition, signed and stamped!

THE CLAN!

I want to come to the final party with family or friends—up to 4 extra people! And of course, I want everything the others get, too!

A LITTLE SONG JUST FOR ME!

You know what would be fun? If Joan Baró recorded a video dedicating that song I love and he always sings! Plus everything the others receive, of course!

WORK DAY'S CELEBRATION!

I want Joan to come and do a private concert -or a world traditional dances ceilidh!- unplugged or using my P.A. System, on a weekday in Catalonia (Monday to Thursday). I’ll pitch in extra for travel costs if needed, I have an add-on available for that! I could even invite my whole town or city! If that’s the case, we might need amplification! Good thing I can select a special add-on so he brings his own PA system! And yes—I want everything the others get too!

IT’S FESTA MAJOR!

Same as above—a private concert or a world traditional dances ceilidh for my people, my town, or my city—but on a weekend or bank holiday in Catalunya! Let’s celebrate!

JOAN BARÓ À LA CARTE!

I want a private concert or a world traditional dance ceilidh with Joan Baró, but with the option to choose what songs or pieces he plays from his repertoire! This reward includes the sound equipment and the travel expenses if the gig is within a 150 km driving radius from Lleida or Inbhir Nis!

YOUR FANTASTIC JOURNEY

I want the biggest reward of all! I want Joan Baró to write and record a custom song just for me! This also includes a dedicated video performance of my favorite song from Joan’s repertoire, the digital album, access to the WhatsApp group, the signed and stamped physical album delivered in person, and the chance to attend the final party with THE CLAN!
