What I want to accomplish

I want to undertake a mountain expedition in the Khumbu Valley (Nepal), the gateway to the main eight-thousanders of the Himalayas and a mecca for mountaineers around the world.

To achieve this, I will first visit the chaotic city of Kathmandu, famous worldwide for its unique character. Once in Lukla, I will trek through the Khumbu Valley to the famous Gokyo Lakes to acclimatize properly to the altitude by ascending several mountain passes above 5,000 meters, accompanied by the Aragonese climber David Cebrián.

After descending to the valley at the foot of Everest, I will meet with the famous Portuguese fourteen-eight-thousander Joâo Garcia, who will be the other member of the expedition.

Once together and acclimatized, we will embark on the demanding circular route around the Ama Dablam massif (6,812m), which will take us through technically challenging mountain passes and connect two unexplored valleys.

As a culmination, if conditions permit, we will attempt to climb Obigaichan Peak (6,340m) via its south ridge, of which only a few documented ascents exist.

The entire journey will be completed in alpine style, in total autonomy, and will take us several days.

Why I need your help

The expenses associated with this type of mountain trip are very high, and even though this expedition will not target any 8000-meter peaks, it is not exempt from them.

We have already received support from some companies and organizations such as Salcedo Mueble and the City Council of Logroño, but I still need one final push to be able to carry out this adventure with all the guarantees of success.

Who I am

My name is Lorenzo J. Martinez, and I am a 34-year-old mountaineer and mountain guide based between the Pyrenees and La Rioja, in Spain.

My work and passion are the mountains, and in this project, I will take it to the max by exploring a remote area of the Himalayan mountains.

How I will allocate your contribution

All the money raised will go towards financing the expenses of the expedition, such as international flights, climbing permits, logistics on site, food and climbing equipment, etc.

If more money is raised than necessary to cover the total costs of the expedition, it will be donated to an NGO in Nepal.
