“Interconexiones" will be premiered by the Cuarteto Emispherio during the 2022-2023 Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla chamber music cycle: XXXIII Ciclo de Música de Cámara on Sunday March 5, 2023 at 12:00 in the “Espacio Turina” concert hall, Seville.
The works will be recorded by Cuarteto Emispherio for a digital album which will be released on all major digital platforms through the leading recording label for oboe repertoire, Oboe Classics
The "Interconexiones: New Oboe Quartets” project includes the commissions, premieres and recordings of five oboe quartets (each work will be no longer than 15 mins). Two quartets will be written by up-and-coming Spanish composers; Maricarmen Asenjo-Marrodán (born in 1978 in Seville and based in Córdoba) and Pilar Miralles (born in Almeria in 1997, based in Helsinki) and the remaining three works will be written by composers John Richard Durant (born in the UK in 1960, based in Seville), Luke Styles (born in Australia in 1982, based in London), Althea Talbot - Howard (born in Nigeria in 1966, grew up in Australia and based in London).

Cuarteto Emispherio, an established oboe quartet based in Seville, Spain, is an advocate for performing and promoting undiscovered works and this new project aims to continue to celebrate and to expand the repertoire for oboe quartet (oboe, violin, viola and cello). We have been working and performing together for more than 15 years. In September 2015, Cuarteto Emispherio released the world premiere recording of “Horus” (2007) by Spanish composer Ferrer Ferran (1966) as part of an album internationally acclaimed by critics:“Quartets for Oboe and Strings" and in November 2019 we released the digital track of the world premiere recording of “Cuarteto con Oboe” (2009) by Spanish composer Jesús Torres all with the UK label Oboe Classics. What will your contributions be used for?
This crowdfunding campaign is set at 7,500€ and will cover a minimum and initial fee for each composer, plus expenses for a recording which is essential for the premiere performance and promotion for the composers.
1,000€ is the minimum amount promised to each composer in order to realize this project. This is a fraction of their official fee and we are very grateful for their personal interest, passion and investment in this project. We are committed to help raise more funds in order to respect the fees of each composer, therefore hoping that the campaign may exceed the set goal. If indeed we exceed our original goal, the surplus funds raised will be shared equally between the five composers.
Funds raised will also cover the professional audio recording (2,500 €). Promotion, artwork and production is all being managed by us. We will be charged 5% plus 1.5 % per transaction by the platform for their service.
Estimated calendar
October 2022: Crowdfunding campaign launched and set for 40 days.
December 2022: CDs and digital downloads of “Quartets for oboe and strings” available.
March 5, 2023: Premiere concert in Seville, Spain.
March 6, 2023: Super anticipated digital download of scores/ Printed scores available to Silver, Gold and Platinum Patrons.
March and April, 2023: Recording and editing of "Interconexiones" album for Oboe Classics.
October 1, 2023: Exclusive and anticipated digital download of “Interconexiones” recording and scores available.
October, 2023 onwards: Official release of the digital album with Oboe Classics.
