BODIES - the reflection of the soul

Our project is a documentary about aesthetic and/or plastic operations and their repercussions, both positive and negative. Therefore we will interview surgeons, psychologists and psychiatrists, to show the point of view of different professionals. We will also follow the story of two patients in their pre, during and post-operative processes of any aesthetic/plastic intervention they have undergone. On the other hand, we intend to interview some influencers who have undergone an intervention so that they can tell us their point of view, that of being constantly subjected to criticism.

We are final year students of Audiovisual Communication, about to go out into the world of work and doing internships in various companies in the Audiovisual world. We are eager to inform, entertain and help to see the reality that surrounds our world.

Some time ago we started to notice that more and more people in our environment wanted and want to change their physical appearance. We realised that the problem with this situation, regarding surgeries and aesthetic changes, is not the fact of wanting to change something about oneself, but the fact of wanting to look like someone in particular in order to feel that you fit into this society.

We want viewers to understand, through the documentary, that having a plastic aesthetic change is not a bad thing, as long as you do it for yourself and not for others. It's not about pleasing others or fitting in with today's social stereotypes; it's about feeling good and having confidence in yourself.

Since we cannot pay any of the patients or doctors who are going to participate in the project, we want to offer the best service in terms of care. Therefore, your contributions will help us to cover all the basic necessities that must be covered in any filming, such as the daily allowance, part of the material or transport, among many other things. Here you can see an approximate budget of what we are going to allocate to each of the needs.

We want to start filming as soon as possible, as this is the final project of our degree, we have a deadline for delivery. On the other hand, we have to adapt to both medical and patient interviewees, and we also have to take into account the availability of some of the material provided by the university, as we share it with many more students. The intention is to be able to record a main character in one day, so it would be easier to have continuity. As for the characters that are going to appear in the beginning, we will be able to film them all in one day, which will help us to reduce costs. The time we want to invest in the editing is also important, because the more careful and professional the editing is, the more credibility the piece will have, and therefore the more effectiveness and repercussion it will have for the viewers.
