Giant world map to color and collaborate in the classroom / home
My father was a teacher, and he always told me “Textbooks are a tool to work with, not just to admire them, so write them down, underline, color, whatever you need”.
This giant world map is something similar, we can display it on the blackboard or on the wall, but the best thing is that it can be colored, shared and collaborate with it. Its large size, 100cm x 70cm, will allow 4-6 students to work on it simultaneously. The map shows country borders and major rivers and mountain ranges. The tropics, the equator and the depth of the oceans are also reflected with a color gradient.
As always on high quality paper so that you can color it with anything: markers, crayons, colored pencils and even watercolors.
It also includes velcro to easily add labels or additional information.
The World Map completes our collection of blank maps of Spain and Europe
Here are some samples of other maps is use, for example working with the autonomous communities of Spain:
The world map also includes a digital version to work in the classroom or at home with the Genially app.
The digital version includes, as in our previous projects:
a) Several versions of the world map, with country borders, mountain ranges, peaks, rivers and tributaries, color gradient on the continents, etc.
b) Interactive world maps, like:
• Continents and oceans.
• Main rivers.
• Mountain ranges and peaks
• Tectonic plates
• 20 most populous countries
• 20 largest countries
• 20 most populated cities
• 20 countries with the highest HDI (Human Development Index)
• 20 countries with the lowest HDI ...
c) Interactive games to learn in a fun way.
The map is designed to allow collaboration up to 6 children at the same time. You can work on a multitude of projects and in different subjects. Here are some ideas and examples of our other maps:
• Political map (Countries, capitals, ...)
• Physical map (Continents, oceans, Main rivers, mountain ranges, peaks, gulfs, headlands ...). On the map are major rivers of the world.
• Climates
• Endangered animals
• Fauna and Flora
• Dinosaurs
• Flags
• Demographics
• Economic development
• Migration movements
• Climate change
• Mathematical problems using the map scale and distances.
• Civilizations.
• Empires.
• World conflicts.
• Cold War.
• Religions.
• Most widely spoken languages.
• Present any topic in another language: Spanish, French, German, etc.
And that's not all!
Play and learn with the Geocartas. Educational game that helps us learn many characteristics of each country in a fun way: Capital, main language, surface area, population, highest point, km of coastline, HDI Human Development Index.
With several game modes:
• Highest value: the player chooses the characteristic.
• To a characteristic: The card is played higher or lower.
• Get the continent.
• Poker of countries.
• Guess the country ... or any other you can create.
To try to reduce costs to the maximum, the cards are sealed but without a box.
Project-Based Learning is one of the most effective and increasingly widespread methodologies in our educational system.
In the PBL, students research and find an answer a question, solve a problem or create a product.
The implementation of PBL allows greater freedom to learn, so that the final product is no longer the only important point, but the learning process, the deepening and the development of competences and skills.
Project-Based Learning encourages:
Collaboration
Communication
Critical thinking
Use of new technologies
PintayPinto is a small publisher that tries to encourage curiosity, learning and collaboration in a fun way.
The blank map of the world is our first patronage. So far, we have been self-funded on our previous maps, but this slowed down our creative process.
In our catalogue you will find:
• Giant coloring maps of Spain, Seville, Camino de Santiago, Rome, Venice, and Imperial Rome
• Blank maps of Spain and Europe printed and digital.
