Calabaza Wilson First Record

Calabaza Wilson is a project created by musicians Erick Horna and Silvia Fluixà, who after several years of work have decided to translate their ideas into recording this album. They have recently recorded 3 songs as a demo, the first one is at the presentation, and here’s the second one.

They drink from several influences and styles, from rock, pop, jazz and funk, as well as artists as diverse as Radiohead, John Mayer or Leo Brouwer.

As it is already known, currently most musicians are in a difficult economic situation due to the absence of concerts and all the restrictions due to the pandemic, so this crowdfunding could give them the necessary push to achieve their goal.

Each contribution has its reward, from a written thank you on our disk, the digital download, the physical copy on CD, the entrance to the presentation concert, to the possibility of a private performance.

About us

Calabaza Wilson was born from the need to express ourselves and have our own voice. After spending years playing the music of others, we have finally been able to find inspiration to write. It is perhaps the only positive thing that we rescue from all this pandemic chaos, having time to be able to create.

Erick Horna is a Peruvian guitarist living in Spain since 2010, he studied guitar and composition at the Trujillo conservatory, his hometown.

Silvia Fluixà is a Mallorcan singer, she studied singing at the Palma de Mallorca Conservatory. She has been dedicating herself entirely to music for more than 20 years.

In 2018 we opened a music school and recording studio in Mallorca, but unfortunately we were forced to close the business last year, as a result of the Covid19 crisis. This year we have opened a new school that, although it is smaller, still fills us with joy and satisfaction, because it allows us to continue dedicating ourselves to what we love. So that you know us in our most pedagogical aspect, we leave you a video of a cover that we made last year with our students during the lockdown time and that we hope you like it as much as we do.

Also for this project we have Cristian Costantini on drums, who is one of the most sought-after musicians on the Spanish music scene; he having recorded and performed with some of the best artists in the industry, such as Sergio Dalma, Marta Sánchez, Antonio Carmona, Paulina Rubio, among others.

On the bass guitar we have the talented Argentine musician Gerardo D’Abundo, who has played in several bands in Argentina, Australia, India, the United Kingdom and participated in different European tours.

What will we allocate your contributions to?

The budget would be allocated to the recording, mixing and mastering our first album, in addition to the making of a video clip, the copies on cd, t-shirts and all the promotional material. The total cost of the project amounts to around € 13,000.

€5000 Studio rental + recording

€3000 Mix + Final Production and Mastering

€1500 Production of CDs in physical format, t-shirts and merchandising

€2000 Video clip production

€1500 Rent of auditorium, theater or concert hall + backline + sound and light technician

We hope to cover at least 50% with this campaign.

Estimated schedule

The recording will take place between June and July 2021
The final result will be released in August 2021
The presentation concert is scheduled for September/October 2021
