CITIES, traveling from home

The painting is made of experiences and provides experiences to the viewer.

In my painting everything I have lived, everything I am, appears.

This is the case of the places lived, also traveling. The memory of the moment emerges in an image that becomes painting evoking a place, a memory, a city.

In recent months, we have had to live a very different reality than usual, locked up at home. Faced with this situation, my proposal has been to recover the places lived in the past in order to relive them in this uncertain present. And I wanted to invite the viewer to travel with me to different cities through painting.

For 62 days, the strictest in confinement, I created a painting every day generated from an image of one of the cities I’ve visited in the past and posted it to share on social media.

Traveling from home, through painting that evokes a whole range of sensations and memories.

The result of this shared experience has been 62 small format works made from a photograph taken on one of my trips, accompanied or completed with drawing and painting with various techniques and media, watercolor, pencil, inks, acrylic on digitally exposed fabric, paper, wood or cardboard.

Every day I have escaped the imposed closure and with me all those who through social media, Facebook and Instagram, have been following my path.

As the end of the project, I want to collect all the works in a book, a special travel book, which is the testimony of this closing time in which we had to discover the importance of art to be free.

This is the reason for the crowdfunding proposal, a campaign that will help me materialize this project, that will allow me to edit this book and make it reach everyone who wants to travel with me through my painting.

The author

Painting in any of its forms, as a creator, as a spectator or as a disseminator, fascinates me. Traveling I discover the world from my painter’s point of view and every place, every corner in my head becomes painting, this is how I keep the memories of my travels, especially those of the cities I visit, cosmopolitan, simple, chaotic, imposing, humble, noisy, exotic, orderly, anyway, they attract me. Now, I have materialized these memories and so we can travel together, with me?

What we will use your contributions for

The contributions will be used entirely to finance the publication of books, rewards, shipping and management expenses for the entire project.

Planned calendar

The book is about to go to print. The works have already been photographed, the book has been modeled and is just waiting to enter machines.

Once printed, it will be necessary to do the manual illustration of the covers and also in the case of those who want a personalized book that contains on the first page an original illustration with the chosen city, between those that appear in the book and those that they prefer to receive with the book an original illustration of 15x15cm with the city they choose from those that appear in the book.
