Who is Cuba dancing for? Is an independent film musical comedy.

The film is about the absurdity, violence, chaos and shame characteristic of the Cuban, mixed with rumba and science fiction in Havana right now. Adorable characters in nice situations and sometimes not so much. Furthermore, they are voices that need to be made visible. Blacks almost never star in any story, be it in the cinema, television or theater, and this would be a great possibility to see blacks, mulattos and whites starring in a film about ordinary people who sing and dance in Cuba despite all prognosis.

About us.

We are a team of artists dedicated to cinema, theater, audiovisuals, television and radio. Cinema is a complicated process in our country, due to the impossibility of accessing it in an expeditious and transparent manner.

We have embarked on this journey due to the success of the musical "Bendita Habana", performed in 2017 with the same theme that you will see in the film.

Both ideas are under the leadership of Antonio Arroyo and are based on a novel that has two out of print editions, called "Mantilla? After La Palma ”, written by Arroyo himself.

"I tell you something. I saw a considerable queue to buy my book when it went on sale the first time. I couldn't believe it and there I thought it would be good to make a movie, then I forgot about it later. Ángel Bárzaga and Darlene Martínez, Art Director and Costume Designer respectively, are two young artists who have done a lot to make this idea come true. I have also had the unconditional support of David Ravelo Rodiles from his entire film company. And so we go."

What will we use your contributions for?

The musical is very expensive, your contribution helps us to concretize this idea precisely. For me it is a dream that great artists participate in the materialization of Who does Cuba dance for?.

The musical arrangements and the recording of the soundtrack, the casting of actors, dancers and extras, the rehearsals of the script and even the food, depend on your generous contribution to this campaign.

Maravilloso! Me encanta!
