WHAT YOU JUST SAW IS AN ADVANCE OF WHAT SHORT FILM WILL BE!
Genre: Historical drama // Duration: 19'
We were facing a seemingly impossible project because of its size, however with the union of three 4th year cinematography classmates and with the help of reenactment and historical dissemination groups, we saw the opportunity for it to become a high cinematic value audiovisual project. Thanks to this we were able to film the Teaser Trailer that you just saw, but this is just the beginning.
For students, raising funds for a project of this caliber is not an easy task; after getting ahead in the most difficult aspects we now need your help to make this adventure a reality.
Beloc, a cunning blind man survives the best he can in the most dangerous era of the middle ages. For this purpose he has the help of Gabriel, an innocent orphan boy who will guide him through the forests, rivers and mountains; helping him steal valuables from the corpses of war that they find along the way.
After a horrific battle between Norman and Templar descendants, Beloc rescues Gabriel from the hands of a Norman chief. However, the trauma leaves the child unable to continue helping him, changing the relationship between them. Beloc will be forced to make the worst of decisions.
This project would not be possible if it was not for the incredible contribution and artisan talent of our historical reenactors. Different medieval reenactment groups will join the adventure for a fierce battle to the death. They are backed by a vast experience alongside a wardrobe with a rigorous historical context that will undoubtedly envelop the landscape on which we will work. At the moment we have the participation of (Visit their facebooks by clicking on the name):
Arx Corpus Dei Cordis, Companyia Almogàver, Hospitalers de Santa María de Sales.
First and foremost, we are friends united by the same passion and the same ambition, which is the seventh art.
The promoters of the project are Dídac Cabello Forroll, Adriana Roger Krenn and Yaroslav Prokhorov. Our paths crossed in 2016 in the classrooms of the Bande à Part Film School in Barcelona, starting with short films and some more ambitious projects like this, which to date, has become the biggest challenge of all. Our goal is to continue growing as filmmakers.
Director and screenwriter of the short films The Last Shot, Dr Kurth and the Seeds of Corruption, Claudia's Shoe and The Feet of the Traveler among others, is about to graduate in the specialization of Direction and Screenplay at the Bande à Part Film School. He has a unique and very personal vision of the stories he gives life to. In addition, this director has a very notable previous experience as an assistant director.
Director of production and 1st assistant director. Like our director, she is finishing her film studies at the Bande à Part Film School. There can not be a better candidate for the roles that she occupies in this production. Line production is one of her strengths. She has numerous short film, video clip and advertising projects behind her.
Director of photography. Studying the last subjects of the degree in Direction of Photography, in the same school as his classmates. He has photographed a dozen short films, music videos and other audiovisual projects. His ability to create a unique visual world for each story combines perfectly with the creative vision of the director of “Beloc The Blind”.
In addition to the three of us, we are fortunate to have a wonderful technical team made up of young but experienced professionals, equally passionate about their work as the directive team:
Alba Pérez - Unit Production Manager
Albert Centell - Production Coordinator
Mikel Etxebarria - 2nd Assistant Director
Leire de Esteban - Art Director
Jorge Lamana - Costume Director
Clara Vidal - 1st Camera Assistant
Lidia Rius - 2nd Camera Assistant
Bernat Bisbal - Gaffer
Rubén Seca - Making of
Joaquín Olaya - Colourist
(we keep adding people to the team)
This project seeks to answer a series of questions that we can ask ourselves nowadays and that is why we travel in time, to reflect the current situation in an already past era. Is money the most important thing? How far is one able to go to survive? How do we teach our children to live in such a cruel and hostile world?
Much of the cinema set in the middle ages tends to be an epic world, with heroes and evil enemies. In Beloc the blind, the human being is more complex and there is not such a thing as good or evil. I am trying to portray a dark, dangerous and clumsy S.XII to see how some typical characters of the Middle Ages behave, and how this behaviour resonates with the present.
The Berguedà region is full of virgin places on which our ancestors walked. Inside that region we find Bagà, a key piece for the development of our characters, a municipality that has fought to preserve our historical heritage. Surrounded by all kinds of places teeming with nature, Bagà provides us with a wide variety of possibilities to make this story a reality.
We also have the collaboration of the City Council of Bagà, supporting our story, being as excited as we are and opening their doors to film and relive those medieval days with them.
All proceeds will go to the realization of this short film, to cover material costs, transportation, catering and later post-production and distribution expenses.

On the delivery of rewards: Depending on the prize, it requires that the production has reached a certain point, some of them can be liquidated before filming like the mention in social networks; others during filming, such as the visit to the great battle and others will have to wait for the project to be completed and for the distribution routes to have been exhausted.
