What's our story?
It all started 2 years ago at the hottest traditional jam in Madrid: "Hot Wednesday". That's where Tara met her jazz bombs, all massive fans of early jazz and established musicians on Spain's music scene. Tara fell madly in love with this music, so much so that at the end of 2018 she decided to start her own band: Tara & The Jazz Bombs was born.
Our project
The aim of this crowdfunding campaign is to raise the funds we need to cover the entire process of recording and launching our first EP: our reinterpretation of six lesser-known jazz tunes from the 1910s, 20s and 30s from artists such as The Boswell Sisters, The Mills Brothers, Chick Webb & His Orchestra and Billie Holiday, including new lyrics and some of our own arrangements.
Just so we're on the same page, an EP is like an album but shorter. Quality, not quantity, amigos. ;)
How will we use your pledges?
Like most bands starting out in this industry, we aren’t signed and we don’t have funding. DIY all the way, baby!
To make this project happen, we’ll need to invest an enormous amount of time and energy. We’re going to need your support, your love and, yes, you guessed it, your hard-earned cash. Everything we raise will cover all the costs related to the EP: recording studio, mixing and mastering; design of the CD artwork; and the manufacture of 1,000 physical CDs and of merchandise.
Envisaged timing
Beginning of February: recording, mixing and mastering of the EP.
Beginning of March: Manufacture of CDs and merchandise.
Mid-March: EP launch and delivery of rewards.
