We are back!
Yes, here we are again! We want to release our fifth full-length album, named Baskavígin, in the fall of 2020, and we request your aid! In a path that began with Amalur, our previous album, we want to show you a bigger slice of the Basque mythology and culture, but never rejecting the chance to develop humorous and creative brand new stories.
We don't want to unveil too much info yet, but for those who do not know, Baskavígin is translated as "The Basque massacre" in Icelandic. This was a major event which took place in the early 1600s, when a group of Basque whale hunters were assassinated by the local population in Iceland, after severe daily life confrontations. Those measures were taken according to the Icelandic book of legislation from 1281, which is called Jónsbók.
Who are we?
In case you still don't know about us, we are Incursed, a Folk/Pagan Metal band hailing from Bilbao (Basque Country). The band was born in 2007 and has undergone several line-up changes, ending up in (from left to right):
Jones: vocals and guitar
Jonkol: vocals and keyboards
Amo: drums
Haitz: bass guitar
Lander: vocals and guitar
Our previous album, the aforementioned Amalur (and also crowdfunded via Verkami), was very positively criticized by the specialized media. Some examples here:
Metalcry
Satan Arise
La Mirada Negra
We toured Spain and part of Europe in a series of gigs named A Journey to Amalur. You can see some of our live performances in the following link (more in the bottom of the page):
Milagre Metaleiro (Pindelo Dos Milagres, Portugal)
Unlike Amalur, we think this will be the most informal and straightforward album by Incursed up to date. A journey of music up to an hour, in which you'll be unable to stop banging your head. Promise!
About the rewards
T-shirts:
This time, besides older designs, we have 3 brand new awesome ones for you to choose. There is male and female versions for the three of them. Here are some examples:
Hoodies:
As for the hoodies, you have the already known The Slavic Covenant design in two flavours, black or green:
Swimsuit/shorts:
Since we know that after the quarantine everybody will be dying for going outside, you can get this exclusive swimsuit or shorts of the band. We already eager to burn the summer with them on us!
Beers:
We have Laugar Brewery in our squad again with their craftsmanship for beer at our service. It's time to introduce Baskavígin:
Baskavígin is an IPA (India Pale Ale) of 6,6% ABV, with a fruity, bitter, very intense taste. Perfect for every season!
And of course, last but not least, you can also get our two previous released beers: Beer Bloodbath and Zombeer:
What will be my pledge used for?
Your pledges will help fund the production costs for the album (recording, mixing and mastering) at Chromaticity Studios with Pedro J. Monge, and the reward production costs (CDs, T-shirts, and so on) as well. Likewise, Warbanner.eu is taking care of all the artwork design, also funded with your support.
It is a heavily expensive process, and we'll need all the help we can get. In quick terms, these are the expenses we will have to face:
Recording, mixing and mastering: 3000€
Merchandising production: 3000€
Media and layout design: 2500€
Promotion and distribution: 2000€
Dressing and scenography: 1500€
Which makes more than 12000€ that, obviously, don't include the endless hours of work and efforts behind. Your support means a lot to go on, pledges are a great help though ;)
Schedule
Despite the recent events due to Covid-19, everything's going as smooth as silk by this time. This is our incoming schedule:
October 2019-March 2020: Album recording at Chromaticity Studios with Pedro J. Monge.
April 2020: Time to mix and master the album in order to achieve the best possible sound.
May 2020: We'll start the merch production that goes along with this new album.
September 2020: The album will be finished and we'll hand out all the rewards to you.
