Forgotten female musicians

Do you know who Nannerl Mozart was? Have you ever heard of Hildegard Von Bingen? Did you know Fanny Mendhelsson was the author of musical plays thought written by her brother? These are only a few examples of talented women overlooked by history due to their gender. Shall we meet them?

About the project:

• “Con la música a otra parte” is a children’s tale in which we will meet six female musicians who though extremely talented have been forgotten by art history. Some of these women despite their brilliance were overshadowed by their husbands or brothers who were destined to succeed in a man’s world.

• My project is formed by the book itself and a workshop in which we work on gender issues and women rights using the history of music as a tool.

Who is involved in this project:

My name is Susana and I’m a cultural manager. I have created and managed different cultural programs. I love art and culture. In this project I combine these passions with my interest in women’s rights and children.

I believe in education as a tool to change models imposed by society. Doing it in a didactic and fun way is the best option to teach children in their early stages.

I’d love that together we could all do our bit to improve the world. This is why I’m asking you to participate in this campaign.

This crowdfunding is ALL OR NOTHING, that’s to say if we don’t reach the 100% of the target, the money will be returned to the sponsors and the project will be cancelled.

-I have the opportunity to publish my book with Ediciones Carena; this is a coedition what means that I should contribute with the 50% of the initial investment.

Schedule:
