Zaida in three. Live CD

Zaida in three is a music group consisting of three voices (one of them being the principal one), piano and double bass. This peculiar combination is characterised by its vocal relevance and acoustic nature, even if these are amplified when performing at big halls or theaters.

Three years ago we presented our project, which does covers of songs from different genres with a characteristic vocal and jazzistic sound. We think that the time has come to produce a physical CD. We are truly excited about the idea of immortalising our musical arrangements and our passion in what we do. We would be delighted if those people who have listened to us or want to in the future can keep us forever in the exact same way we sound in a live concert.

We weren’t sure whether we should or shouldn’t do a spoiler in here. But we are willing. So we decided to trust our feelings and share with you the first record of the CD we are about to produce (with your help). This is the starting song of the concert at the former Santo Domingo Convent, in La Laguna, during that March.

About the rewards

Zaida in three disc

Maybe it sounds a bit vintage, but for us it seems like a great idea that you can hold us in your own hands. The simplest way to collaborate in this project is buying our CD and wherever you are, we will manage to send it to you as soon as possible.

Open-air concert

Casa del Vino, in Tenerife, is one of our favourites places. You can contribute to this campaign by purchasing the tickets for this concert. Possibly, you have seen us performing our traditional Navijjaz, but in this occasion the appointment is in the inner courtyard. The winepress will be transformed in a stage and you will enjoy your glass of wine, with the sky acting as roof.

You will get a signed and dedicated copy of our CD as well.

Intimate concert

Have you ever wanted to ask something to the musicians integrating a band? Or maybe congrat them or share some time with them? Perhaps make an intervention or provide a suggestion during a concert, in the break between songs? If that is the case, here you have a great opportunity: attending an intimate concert (just for 15 people), in the most natural way, 100% acoustic.

This soirée is thought out for sybarites and will end with a catering enjoyed by all of us: audience and musicians.

If you wish so, we will hand you out our CD in person, and we will sign it after meeting you (if we haven’t met before) in order to make the dedication more personal.

We want to share with you time before, during and after the concert.

Private concert

You decide the place, and we provide the music. If you are organizing an event, or want to make a special present to someone special, it is possible to contribute to this crowdfunding getting a Zaida in three concert in return. If it takes place in Tenerife, we will undertake everything. If it takes place somewhere else (even another country), technical needs will be considered, but making everything possible at the least cost. By all means, you will also obtain your CD signed and dedicated.

Who we are

Zaida Almeida

This young singer from Tenerife has spent her entire life in connection with music, although not precisely with the role she performs in this project. Before she was able to write in Spanish, she had already put hands on a piano, even though it is the violin that became the instrument of her life. Her years of study at the conservatory, her participation in several projects and music genres as a singer as well as an instrumentalist, make her musical career a roller coaster of experiences and learning.

Three years ago, she decided to set up a new project, Zaida in three, and she found herself surrounded by the best human team because they were great musicians, she already knew.

José Félix Álvarez

Born listening to Canarian folk music, and always interested in other types of folks from many other places around the world, this singer with heart and blood from Tejina has been nourished from the most pure and natural music genres during his whole life. How could he imagine he was going to end up singing jazz music? He is the 1, the 2 or the 3 in that Zaida in three.

Sara Almeida

Even younger, but just as much Almeida. She already sang inside her mother’s womb (who is also a great singer), and she hasn’t stopped doing it since then. Mind you, better and better, nicer and nicer. This woman has no ceiling. She is the 3, the 2 or the 1 in that Zaida in three.

Juan Antonio Mora

Mora (that’s how we all know him) and Zaida could have met when teens, among hallways and study rooms at the conservatory. They suspect they played together in the Orquesta del Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias, but they weren’t that lucky to really meet each other until lots of years afterwards, just when the process of taking on this project had already started.

Beautiful coincidences make possible for this wonderful double bass player, known for his amazing contribution to Canarian folk working in the company Pieles, to take part in Zaida in three playing and bowing the strings.

Pablo Díaz

The world of music has one more genius since Pablo Díaz put his hands over a piano. He creates with every key he touches. Intelligence, elegance and good taste had never been so balanced. Here you have a valuable example.

What to allocate the contributions

The information shown below is general and approximate. In any case, we want to share with you (the contributors) our budgetary forecasts.

Planned timetable

Once the campaign is published we have 40 days for you become collaborators and making this project come true.

Though we are already working on this because we are optimistic and we trust you all, we would need approximately one month after the closing of the campaign to finalize some details. That means within July and September 2019. As soon as the CD is in our hands, we will send it to the address you provide us. Also in that exact moment, the dates of the rewards (concert at La Casa del Vino during summer and intimate concert, or concerts in plural, depending on the number of collaborators choosing this option), will be settled.
