Durruti: Son of the People is a documentary research project that seeks to reconstruct the life of the anarchist Buenaventura Durruti focusing on his historical figure and social context characterized by a strong presence of anarchism and the CNT in the Spanish state and Catalonia.
Through different audiovisual resources such as recreations, animations, interviews with Durruti’s relatives, testimonies of historians, we will enter into a historical plot that goes from the strike of 1917 to the social revolution of 1936 passing through the rise of the CNT, the years of anti-tradeunion terrorism operated by factory owners, the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera and the Second Republic.
A whole life dedicated to the Revolution.
The idea is to investigate who this historical character was. The documentary will show the work of historical research and the different locations where Durruti's life takes place. We will also use the narrative resource of different voiceover anecdotes and recollections of historical figures that coexisted with Durruti, for which we are studying historical documentation. The documentary will include interviews with historians and researchers who have worked on the subject. For the reconstruction of history we have personal photographs provided by the CNT archives as well as material from the Filmoteca Nacional. In order to reconstruct some scenes we will use drawings made by the artist Agustín Comotto and recreate some of the scenes.
If we surpass the limit of 12.000 euros we will be able to make some scene recreations.
The idea is that the documentary has a cinematographic aspect.
SOME PEOPLE TO INTERVIEW
Some of the people whose participation is confirmed in the documentary are the following:
Juan Mariné, the man who filmed Durruti's burial: https://www.publico.es/culturas/cine-juan-marine-hombre-filmo-entierro-durruti.html
Marta Durruti: family member of Buenaventura Durruti: http://elespiadigital.com/index.php/tribuna-libre/17955-entrevista-a-marta-durruti-que-venga-pepe-y-lo-arregle
Dolors Marín: Doctor in Contemporary History from the University of Barcelona with a thesis on the formation of libertarian culture in Catalonia and the organization of anarchist affinity groups.
About the rewards
All contributions are rewarded with a viewing link for the documentary. For the realization of the documentary we have illustrations of Agustín Comotto whose prints are part of the rewards as well as the poster of the documentary.
Who we are
Pewmafilm e ingobernablesproducciones try to use audiovisual means to introduce stories and points of view that have no place in the mass media. We are part of ACATS (Associació Col-lectiva Audiovisual per a la Transformació Social).
During these years we have made documentaries about the struggle of the Mapuche people (The Return of the Weichafe), the anarchist movement in Catalonia (Ungovernable: a tour of anarchist Catalonia), the social struggles in Catalonia (Poble Rebel), about the application of the antiterrorist law to the social movements (Teh Rule of Fear) or the last work financed by verkami "En la Brecha, anarquistas contra Franco".
The aim is to use audiovisual creation to fight against neoliberal hegemonic thinking and to carry out social consciousness work that favours a social transformation towards a more just, free and egalitarian society. We have been making documentaries and videos about social struggles for years as well as making hundreds of presentations with thousands of people who have seen our work during this time.
How shall we use your contributions
We have a minimum goal of 8500 euros to be able to make the documentary with certain guarantees and quality but anybody who understands the world of cinema would laugh at our budget. We have material, desire, enthusiasm and experience that have given us previous documentaries and have been recognized by thousands of people in the screenings and selected in different festivals but without your help this project would not be possible. The more we collect the documentary will have more quality and will reach more people so we encourage you to participate.

Per favor, poseu als crèdits el nom de David Collados Palau, el meu no cal, si no es pot els dues. I necessitariem dues entrades per a la estrena, si pot ser, clar. Podem renunciar a alguna làmina a canvi. Moltes gràcies
