So I have decided to offer additional incentives to all those who contribute to the photobook Fuerzas y cuerpos. Both those who are already patrons and new patrons who may come. Both whether you contribute € 28, or € 180 you will receive a photograph of the project at 10x15cm if we reach the second goal. The day finish the verkami you will receive a form where you can choose between 5 photographs of the project.

In 2015 I considered doing a Photographic project on the Civil Guard in Catalunya. It is not until a year later, that I got permission to access from Madrid.
Fuerzas y cuerpos is a photobook that deals with the invisibility of the Civil Guard in Catalunya.
The Civil Guard is a police force in Catalonia that people know that exists but it is never seen, not known if they continue operating in Catalonia. We don't know what their function is either. That's why I'm talking about the Invisibility as Control, when these security bodies are invisible is when they are operational, they are invisible to have control.
This is a security system applied around the world. Invisibility is used in all places as a control and operational system.

FUERZAS Y CUERPOS (State Security Forces and Corps). The photobook
Photography the spaces in which they operate and work, their vehicles, the files, the shooting fields, the tools, the control centers, the offices, the borders, thus making visible the spaces of control to which the citizens do not have access.
The events of the last months in Catalonia and the Basque Country, among other places, have also made the book more context-based. The photobook more than having photographs of the internal spaces of the barracks has an extensive text of the curator of art Oriol Fontdevila, made especially for the book. The text is in Catalan, Spanish and English.
The photobook has been selected to the Unseen Dummy Award in Amsterdam where it was exhibited throughout the festival. And the project has been selected in Descubrimientos Photoespaña, Photogenic Festival, SCAN Photobook (with the initial dummy) and shortlisted in Athenes Photo Festival.
Techniques characteristic of the book
-Print run: 750 copies
-Dimensions: 22 x 28 cm closed (vertical)
-120 pages. Printed at 4/4 + varnish-paper Gardapat 13 Kiara 135 g.
-binding on hard cover sewn to the thread, lined with paper Fedrigoni Verdigris material with black text stamping and blow dry-printed guards
-Texts: Oriol Fontdevila
-Design: Tres Tipos Gráficos
-Correction and translation: Julia Doy
In the book there will be some pages compiling the name of all the patrons.
Rewards
The rewards range from €28 which include the book with shipping to Spain, up to €1200 the book pack with the 60 photographs of the project tailored to the interior of the book with shipping to Spain. The price of sale to the post to the Verkami will be of €35. There are rewards of the book with shipping to the European Union.

Who am I?
My name is Paula Artés (Molins de Rei, 1996) and as a photographer I am committed to publicizing and questioning the structures of power and control. Photography as an excuse to access these spaces and question them collectively. In July 2018 I graduated in photography and contemporary creation in IDEP. When I was in the second race it was when I started presenting my projects to festivals and competitions. Since 2016 I have been selected in different competitions, festivals, scholarships and different awards. * Fuerzas y cuerpos * is my first book, with which I work since 2015 and I really want to publish it.
To what will I allocate your contributions?
The main expense to cover will be the print. Once the required number has been achieved and if the requested goal is exceeded, other project expenditures will also be covered, such as: Book design, text creation, tradition, correction and distribution. And if you finally get to cover all these needs, it will be the turn to collect the copyright. In case you overcome all these amounts to cover you would decide to make a larger run.
Presentations of the Photobook
During the 40 days of the Verkami there will be different presentations of the book to explain it in more detail, explain anecdotes and create debate around it. Currently there are the following scheduled presentations:

Friday January 4, 7:30pm at Bookstore Context, Girona. (C/del Pou Rodó, 21)
Tuesday January 8, 7pm in Espai Òmnium Bages-Moianès, Manresa. (C/Sobrerroca, 38)
Thursday January 10, 6pm at La Panera, Lleida. (Plaça Panera, 2)

Calendar planned
The book will enter the press in late January-early February.
Between March and early April all rewards will be received.
