Lo Sbarco

Some italian citizens living abroad, are following with growing anxiety the news coming from their country: racism, corruption, maphia power, precariousness, environmetal exploitation. Their country is changing from the social and civil point of view, under the resigantion of almost everyone. An idea is born: they'll leave with a ship, “the rights ship”, from Barcellona to Genova. 1000 people will leave for a landing in the opposite way, 150 years after Garibaldi's one. A lot of people from different cities in Europe join the project: common and famous people, among the others Dario Fo and José Saramago. In Genova the “rights squares” have been set up to welcome the travellers.

On the ship, during the journey, encounters and meetings take place to remember that everyone has the right to exist, travel, take care of health, culture, environment. A “rights ship” and even a new Noa's Ark, in wich every cultural and human experiences can be boarded, to avoid their extintion. A fools' ship, driven by utopia. A pirate challenge to the resegnation around.

The documentary Lo Sbarco (The Landing), by Adonella Marena and Dario Ferraro, is an answer to an ever tougher reality, domined by violence, racism, corruption, mafia. With our own medias, those of audiovisual narration, we try to birng to a widest audience this message of democracy, creativity and sharing.

Now we need to face part of the post-production expenses, particularly those of the sound editing, scheduled in april. The film will be presetes in june, in the anniversary of our journey, and will be distributed trough television, festivals and dvds.
