Anábasis, a short film by Segundodesayuno

Synopsis

Probably the end of a love serves to understand that there is never a true ending, that the end itself is another stage of a story that remains suspended in time. Bò and Marcel decide to gain this awareness when they refind themselves as unique people in a continuous process of change.

We talk about solitude and meeting. Search. Also about the need (increasingly urgent) to map emotions. We explore a different communication that educates the feelings to protect them. Bò and Marcel decide to face each other using masks and stripping them off. Anábasis portrays that rite of pain and love, a rite of passage, a space and suspended time in which to live and feel the end of a relationship.

Who is behind Segundodesayuno?

Segundodesayuno is a film collective formed due to the shared need to use cinema as a subject for experimentation. We are a transoceanic team born in Barcelona and located between Pamplona, ​​Paris, Córdoba and Macao. We work together and from a distance in order to make real the creative impulse to capturate stories located on the border between documentary and fiction.

Anábasis is our first fiction short film. The film is based on acting improvisation, a game that stretches until the writing of the script and ends up offering us bits of filmed reality.

How will we allocate your contributions?

We have already financed half of the project, taking on the rental of equipment during filming, expenses and transport costs. Now we need your help to finish the movie! We will allocate most of the budget collected to the postproduction, renting professional editing rooms, grading and audio mixing that enhance the quality of the raw material.

Another part of the raised funds will go towards distribution, thus facilitating the delivery of the short film to national and international festivals that we could hardly take on without your help. And finally, we make movies to be seen! that is why we want Anábasis to well reach the public, organizing presentations as a return in the places that have collaborated with us.

What happens if we exceed the objective?

We have worked hard to move the project forward; if we exceed the initial objective we will pay the actors, we will cover the rent of the borrowed equipment and we will pay the technical and creative team that has collaborated with us.

• The poster of the film is an original design by the artist Maite Redondo Gaztelu.

• The tote bag of Anabasis is an illustration by Maite Redondo Gaztelu printed by the serigraphy designer @andreagonzalezart.

• The earrings are made by the jeweler @Candelaenramajewelery.

• The house of the shooting is located in @Villafamés, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.

Calendar

We are currently finishing the editing. Thanks to your contributions we will enter the post-production phase of the film. Once the final version is finished, during the month of June, we will begin the distribution through international festivals.

The premiere is scheduled for the end of summer 2018, after three years of travel together and eagerness to share it with you. We will organize screenings in Castellón, Villafamés and Barcelona, ​​taking advantage of the occasion to personally thank all patrons for your support.
