This is a work of the prestigious jazz composer and saxophonist Jesús Santandreu; a concert for Jazz big band in a single movement, composed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Sedajazz Big Band. Unlike the traditional compositions for big band, "Compendium" develops in a symphonic manner without solo interventions. This piece has a great climatic force along with a great variety of colours, harmonic and rhythmic richness.

This one is a very special project and we are sure that it will transcend the history of modern music.

Who are we?

Jesús Santandreu

Arranger and composer expert in different disciplines such as chamber music, big band, symphony orchestra and wind orchestra. Jazz saxophonist. Symphonic pieces premiered or performed in Brazil, USA, Portugal, Germany, Colombia and Spain. Experienced as a teacher in several European, American and Latin American Universities.

He currently resides again in his native land, Valencia, teaching in the jazz department of the Superior Conservatory of Music “Joaquin Rodrigo” in Valencia and in Sedajazz Musicians Collective.

Sedajazz Big Band

Created in 1991, Sedajazz Big Band is the flag of a musicians collective that holds more than 800 performances in theatres and international festivals and recorded five recordings that endorse its impeccable career.

Sedajazz has organized more than thirty international jazz seminars, has edited 65 albums with its own label, has organized numerous jazz festivals, has offered thousands of concerts with its different projects and maintains a great jazz academy with more than 250 students and 22 teachers.
