As result of the work carried out over 7 years, Bretxa Erretratuak 2010-2017, Subjective Atlas Vol.III is presented in the form of a print publication, sponsored by the Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa - Koldo Mitxelena Kulturunea and Donostia 2016 added the generosity of the authors of the texts and the models, an album with images of 434 persons who I knew by name (not a random impersonal choice) That's why it tooks me 7 years of conversations to put together all my models. They are portrayed on a wall of the Bretxa market in San Sebastian accompanied by a photo of their favorite corner of the city. This Atlas with 874 images is a document of the residents/visitors of Donostia in the second decade of the new millennium. An edition that by its special character, will be almost exhausted the day of its presentation.

With the idea of extending the edition of this book called Bretxa Erretratuak 2010-2017, Subjective Atlas Vol.III, Donostia 2017 I've launched this crowfunding to offer the possibility of enjoying this publication to all those people who were not in Donosti in those years, nor passed by the market of the Bretxa to be photographed, although equally feel attachment to the city or may have an interest in this project.

the Book

The book contains 600 pages, format album Landscape 24 x16 cm, hardcover, bound, paper Coral white 100gr, cover Geltex, imitation of fabric, rounded edges and borders tinted, like an ancient Atlas, 874 photos plus 9 essays of journalists, curators, art historians and artists:

Anne Faucheret curator of Kunsthalle Vienna, Arantxa Fdz Kape philologist, Begoña Ameztoy writer, Diana Sherlock curator, Glenn Ligon artist, Iñigo Lamarka ex-Ombudsmann, Izaskun Arandia filmmaker, Marta Arzak art historian and Wayne Baerwaldt curator, in three languages, Basque, Spanish, English.

The peculiarity of the publication is that in the day of its presentation practically becomes exhausted: 434 copies will be delivered to the models as reward for their kindness and the use of their image. The aprox. 200 remaining copies will be distributed by the institutions that have financed the publication of the book. A supplementary edition of 250 copies will allow access to the publication to the interested persons and for a price close to that of its production €35 + post and packaging (3€ Spain/ 10€ Intl) signed and embossing stamped.

The price of this offer is very much lower than the normal editions of my work. This is due to the fact that the photos are offered as Open Edition, i.e. unnumbered, in a single format, and only during these 40 days of crowfunding; if you have interest in having some of my original photos, that’s the moment!!!

Raised money

It will serve to pay the printing expenses of the book, and production of the postcards and impression of the photos, more postage and packing and all taxes, Paypal and visa fees and different financial commissions. It is also to be considered that this has been a project self-financed for 7 years and that any possible extra money will be invested in the implementation of future projects

Schedule, deliveries and shipments

Books, postcards, photographs and badges can be picked up the day of the presentation of the book June 9th in Donosti, to which you are all invited, and during the following days, anyone who wants to get in contact with me and is by the city.

The rest of the rewards will be sent by ordinary mail in the Peninsula included, or by Intl shipping with extra payment as in the pledges explained in the following days.
