Following the success campaign BE “GODFATHER” OF A FRAME of the short film “Ursula’s Victory”, AINUR FILMS is once again funding the postproduction of its last work – HIBERNATION, directed by Jon Mikel Caballero, starring Adam Quintero and Manuela Vellés.

The fund process is simple, from 10€ you sponsor a frame of this film, so thanks to you it will grow and it will be possible to finish the postproduction stage. Once HIBERNATION is ready to exhibition, each Godparent will receive his sponsored frame, a unique frame only for you.

SYNOPSIS

Joseph is an astronaut set to go where no man has arrived in the Universe through the 'Hibernation' program. But something happens between him and his instructor Claire, and decisions that seemed unbreakable begin to crack. The countdown has begun.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The best sci-fi stories are those which tell us more about ourselves, about what makes us human through creations or technologies yet impossible to exist. If we theorize about science's destiny we will find an infinite context of possibilities to also theorize about human behavior.

Hibernation tries to explain how hard is to make a decision. In this case, how hard could be to follow your professional dreams when you love someone. The hibernation process it's just a pretext or metaphor to go deeper into the subject.

Hibernation intends to freshen up the world of short films. We want to speak about a universal matter through a very specific point of view. We want this journey to be unique in an emotional and a visual way.

Starting from visual aspect (cinematography, art direction, costume and make-up) and going through audible (sound design, original score) we will use all the tools we have to tell Joseph's journey as clear, virtuous and moving as we can. In order to achieve that, our bet is huge and our enthusiasm is out of proportion.

We hope and we wish that Hibernation will be able to exceed all this expectations making it a short film to mention, both as science fiction and also as a movie.

THE DIRECTOR: JON MIKEL CABALLERO

Jon Mikel Caballero (1985, Pamplona, Spain) studied Audiovisual Communication in University of Navarra.

Since his childhood he was interested in visual expression through drawing, painting, comic or stop motion short films.

His first live action short film, DYSTOPIA (2008) was self produced and shot among friends. The TV actor Iban Garate starred the film. Dystopia won the best short film in video award in the Pamplona Film Festival.

He moved to Barcelona to study a master in ESCAC. After shooting some short films at the school he starts to work in the spanish film industry in the feature film BRUC (2010) and later EVA (2011), in which he worked as personal assistant to the director Kike Maíllo.

While he started to write HIBERNATION (2012) he worked in THE IMPOSSIBLE (2012, Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor) as personal assistant to J.A. Bayona and mainly as director of the Making of Documentary. After that, he fully embarqued to HIBERNATION: his first high budget short film.
