WE WANT TO CREATE A PEACE CORNER
Jordi Torrens and Esteve Molero met each other a long time ago in a music school where Jordi was modern harmony's teacher and Esteve was his pupil. From that very moment they got really well together.
20 years after we have been reunited and we have decided to record a CD together: a selection of Jordi Torrens' melodies (written through the years while he traveled the world while touring) and arranged by Esteve Molero (who after studying with Jordi graduated in Jazz Composing and Arranging at Rotterdam).
And to achieve this we need your help, since, as real musicians that we are, we have many ideas, inspirations, working capacity… but little money! In exchange we offer a number of rewards made with illusion, what is sharing what we love the most: music.
Guitar and trombone will be the lead instruments in the recoding, but with the
accompaniment of a spectacular jazz quartet: with the pianist Òscar Ferret, the double bass player Jordi Mestres, the drummer Pinyu Martí and the percussionist Enric Canada. We will, as well, host some guest artists!
We have already played together some other times before, we have even recorded together the CD Premature Memories. There is a lot of good energy between us: musical respect, good manners, which are basic ingredients to get improvisations to flow. Here you can listen a theme, recorded by our technician and friend David Casamitjana, who will also be the sound engineer for our new CD.
Where will the contributions go?
We will use the achieved money for:
Recording and mastering: € 1,000
Discographic edition: € 1,000
Musicians fee: € 800
Courtesy to invited guests: € 200
Production: € 200
Management expenses + delivery + unforeseen issues: € 300
If we are able to exceed the cipher of € 3,500, we will use the extra money to produce a more sophisticated discographic edition (digipack) and also to increase the fee of the professionals involved, who have given us their best fee.
About the rewards
The rewards to the sponsors will be fulfilled from the release of the new CD on (which is expected for September 2016), in the presentation concerts that we are already organizing around Catalonia.
This method allows us to save money from delivery, and invest it in the artistic needs. However, to all the people who will be unable to attend the concerts, we will be also happy to send them the rewards.
The first recording session will be on the 10th April. Keep it in mind because one of the rewards is coming to spend that day with us and our team.
