TEXTURES is designing photographic patterns with images from nature. We want to launch our first collection of objects made with photographies from Lanzarote island, a martian and mind-bending landscape, such as this patterns. Each new collection will reproduce different places of the world.
We make photos because we can capture the beauty of any place, but what happens most, is that those photos end up in the deepest and darkest of a hard drive and they rarely come to see the light, of which they are made up.
TEXTURES is a project thought to bring photos back to life, to bring them closer to our daily lives. Because they were taken to carry the world´s beauty, we want to give them the chance to get out from the computer and conquer new surfaces.
Contributing to this crowdfunding campaign you will be collaborating with the possibiliy and diffusion of this creative work. And you will also be beautifying your surroundings!
All began when...
One lucky day I arrived to the work of William Morris, the real father of patterns. He devoted his whole life to create beautiful patterns inspired in nature and defended wildly artisan work against standardization. Around 1871 he said something that has gotten me deeply:
"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful"
Since Morris time, machines can certainly do almost anything. Nowadays printers can even print directly in fabrics. With this project we aim to fuse best things from both worlds. Taking advantage of new techniques to go to where you could not before, but making them useful to the ideals of art and beauty, that the Arts&Crafts movement showed us.
Lanzarote Collection
After a short time living in Lanzarote, I felt trapped by its strange and magnetic landscape. There is apparently nothing in the island, but when you come closer, and pause into details, you realize there is a whole mantle of marvelous textures that I needed to capture.
Guided by the inspiration that Escher images gave me, I felt the desire to transform those limited images into infinite patterns that could cover any surface.
I have created a small collection of objects, that includes cushions, bags, t-shirts and notebooks, so you can be surrounded by the magic of this tropical landscape.

Whatever it is the reward you choose, you can decide with which pattern you want us to produce it for you. You will be asked which pattern is your favorite, once the crowdfunding campaign is finished and if we achieve our goal.
Cushions
Cushions are made out of cotton twill 100%, a resistant and very very soft textile, which is ideal for Lanzarote dreaming naps. One side patterned, one side ecru. With zipper. Stuffing not included.
Bags
Bags are made out of cotton twill 100%, a very very resistant textile (so Lanzarote´s force will guide you long time) and very pleasant to touch. They have cotton tape handles long enough for shoulder carrying. One side patterned, one side ecru.
T-Shirts
T-Shirts for women and men. They are made out of cotton 100%. In white or grey. They both have a tiny pocket with one of the patterns from Lanzarote, the one you like.
Notebooks
If we achieve our second goal of 2.500€, we will also order the production of lovely notebooks, and all of the patrons that had contributed will receive also one notebook, added to your reward.
Textures notebooks are white inside and beautiful on the outside. With rounded corners, to let our your flow come out. Ideal for writings and drawings from restless and traveling minds. They will be A6.
What will we do with your pledges
This crowdfunding campaign has the purpose of launching the first collection of artistic objects created by TEXTURES, and also to create a web page from where continue offering our photographic patterns to the world.
Collaborate with us to be the first one to feel in your hands how is the warm texture of a soft photography.
Calendar
This crowdfunding campaign ends January 5th. If we achieve our goal - 2.000€ - we will send all rewards to production. This will take around +15 - 20 days*.
You can expect your rewards for the end of January. If we achieve our first goal of 2.000€ before the campaign´s closing, we can order production sooner, and make the rewards available for the beginning of January, coinciding with Wise Men Day, a typical day to gift in Spain. So, fast! collaborate sooner and your rewards can become late Christmas presents.
Delivery
We will make a celebration and delivery event in Madrid, where you can come to pick up your rewards. To those who can´t come, rewards will be send by mail, in the average time of three days.
All rewards, with the exception of the pins, cover delivery expenses in Spain. If you wish to receive your reward, somewhere in the Canary islands, Europe or further, you must include the mail reward (the one with an envelope on it). ONCE for Canary islands and Europe, TWICE for deliveries in the rest of the world.
