Formentera Project
Formentera Project is focus in to find, research, protect and share the underwater cultural heritage under the sea of Formentera.
Scientific Target: We are developing an inventory of underwater archaeological sites and remains (shipwreck, ancient ports and anchorage) to give to the administration an appropriate management tool to protect this Underwater Cultural Heritage in continuous danger of destruction by fishery activities or looting that is still being a problem nowadays since the 50’s.
However we have also a Social target. Share all the knowledge produced by the research making a documentary to allow us to show how is the daily research job using this to explain also the unknown history that Formentera have from it sea.
Who we are
The Instituto Balear de Estudios en Arqueologica Maritima (IBEAM) is an non profit organisation, created by professionals of maritime archaeologist working together to Maritime Cultural Heritage never be forgotten.
Every year hundreds of underwater archaeological sites are potentially damaged due to they are known or because they are tempted by fishery activities or looting.
IBEAM wants to change this situation, and to do this we need your help.

Formentera Experience. We invite you with an accompaniment to enjoy with us during a day having a tour in our ship. From the main harbour we will visit around the island showing the most relevant historical places from the sea, IBEAM members will be your guide having a traditional meal on board enjoying also one of the most impressive sunset from this beautiful island.
Where is your money invested
The main amount of money will be used to support the documentary framework. (accommodation, food and move to the island to record),Filming Process and Editing Process.
