ONDINE

THE PROJECT

A 5 minute music video to promote and visually realize the single to Fanny Roz’s first album titled Ondine. The song tells the story of a Mermaid who has lost her heart to a sailor and now inhabits the cold, icy realm where her heart once was. The video to accompany the song will chart a journey in one seemingly uncut take from within the explosive chemistry of her body, wider into the rush of blood cells as the mermaid remembers her love, and out of her body to show her trapped in a frozen realm without love. The video will utilize chemical reactions filmed at Barcelona Chemistry University in slow motion with a macro lens, (as seen recently in The Tree of Life) to replicate landscapes and objects within the body.

WHAT WE NEED

Ondine is a very beautiful song that deserves an equally beautiful visual accompaniment. Fanny Roz’s album will be released by the label BCore in 2012. Their Budget however only covers the production of the album. Amazingly the University labs have opened their doors to us for free, allowing us the opportunity to capture spectacular images that Would usually cost a lot of Money. But to capture them a macro lens is needed, attached to a camera that can shoot at a very high frame rate. Both are rare and costly and so their rental fee is making up the Money that we are trying to raise. Because of the experimental nature of the shoot we are unsure where the chemical reactions will take us. These landscapes will inform us as we film and later inform the viewer as they match and listen. This ephemeral quality suits the story of the mermaid and we feel that the visuals will therefore be a perfect match to the song.

WHO WE ARE

The crew is made up of former Barcelona Film School students who are taking their first bold and brave steps into the audio visual World. They are young, exciting and unconventional and want to make their mark.

WHEN IT'S TAKING PLACE

Fanny’s single is released in April 2012. We Intend to shoot the video in the final week of February and To have it edited and graded by the end of the following month so that it can be shown on her website and through French and Spanish TV channels; a tool to promote this wonderful singer and to showcase the talents of the young team behind the camera.
