PROJECT DESCRIPTION

LO SOÑADO is the first solo CD by the trombonist Ximo Vicedo. A project released under the label Cablemusical, devoted entirely to trombone repertoire accompanied by different combinations (piano, brass quintet and trombone choir). Among its peculiarities it should be spotted that all works are written and dedicated to Ximo Vicedo by Spanish composers.

WHO IS XIMO VICEDO

He is principal trombone at the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, he collaborates with Cadaqués Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra and he is professor at the High Music School Katarina Gurska.

Ximo Vicedo as a solo player has played with the RTVE Symphony Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra of Spain, Orchestre du Prix from CSMDP, Albacete Orchestra, Wind Band of CSMA, Madrid and Barcelona Wind Band.

His passion for education and teaching has led him to become a regular guest professor at several Spanish youth orchestras. He also teaches master classes and plays solo recitals in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Mexico and Colombia. Among his commitments a special emphasis has to be given to his relation with various projects together with the Venezuelan trumpeter Pacho Flores and the pianist Pepe Gallego.

WHY THIS RECORDING

The singularity of LO SOÑADO lies in the creation of a corpus of works for solo trombone composed entirely by Spanish composers. This CD is therefore intended to be a small contribution to the repertoire originally written for trombone. That was, since the beginning, an important part of the dream.

Its title, LO SOÑADO, is given because dreams are the raw material of art and the great progress of humanity. Dreams are the source of the purest of fullness of the human mind, and through them we express what the soul craves, without limitation or filters.

"We die when we stop dreaming", many writers and thinkers say, refering to the creative and invigorating ability of dreams; they are the starting point of countless masterpieces.

Ximo Vicedo presents his dream come true, brought to life through the language that he dominates the most: music, and using his instrument as his tool: the trombone.

HOW IS GOING TO BE THIS RECORDING

One of the important elements of the recording are collaborations. On one hand, mention the participation of great musicians like the pianist from Valladonid Jose Gallego, the internationally known brass quintet Spanish Brass Luur Metalls and the Friends Trombone Choir formed especially for for this occasion by trombonists who have a long term friendship with Ximo Vicedo.

On the other hand, there are the composers, an extraordinary list with names such as Fernando Velázquez, José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana, Ramón García i Soler, Lusa Monllor, Santiago Miguel, Miguel Guerra, Ricardo Salvador Brotons and Ricardo Mollá.

LO SOÑADO collect 8 pieces, entirely composed for Ximo Vicedo.

They were commissioned to draw with sounds his deepest longings and others were dreamed to give them life note after note.

CONTRIBUTIONS WILL HELP TO

The budget for this project exceeds the amount established. If it gets beyond it, would be invested to cover the piano rental, the room rental, the CD graphic design, the photography expenses, etc.

TIMETABLE

If funding is successful, the project will be ready between late March and early April. From that moment, the presentation process will take place in different cities, both in Spain and abroad.
