What's Brigada Intergeneracional?

The Brigada InterGeneracional (Intergenerational Brigade) project is a collective of artists supporting The Recovery of Historical Memory who have any relevant family experience or has been touched by any aspect of our recent history expressing it through their songs. Many of the songs are original creations but there are also some covers of old songs or poems from Spanish Civil War or even earlier with a new approach. The idea is to create a vivencial, social and emotional photograph of Spanish and Catalan Republic, Spanish Civil War (or Fascist Coup), Dictatorship and Democracy Transition. After organising a concert at Barnasants Festival and another one at*Poble Vell de Corbera d'Ebre* during 2014, next step is, with your help, to publish a CD by the end of the year. This will allow the project to grow and get funding to organise more activities for The Recovery of Historical Memory in a very special moment when the last testimonies of Spanish Civil War are dying. It is then necessary to work on this direction and also URGENT! We ask for financial help through crowdfuning to bring some light to the shades of part our hidden recent history. We need to break the silence of almost 40 years of Franco's Dictatorship opression plus almost 40 years of democracy when this part of history has been erased from schools and mass media and more than hundred thousand victims still lie forgotten in the mass graves.

The artists who have collaborated with songs about historical memory for this first CD are: Cesk Freixas, Feliu Ventura, Quico Pi de la Serra & Carme Canela, Enric Hernàez, Manel Joseph, Xavier Batllés, Xavier Baró, Os Chotos!, Rosa Luxemburg, La Banda del Panda, Sergi Dantí, Joanjo Bosk, l'Orquestra de Trinxera, François Pagès, Turnez & Sesé i Quico, El Cèlio i el Noi Mut de Ferreries. And the unreleased songs recorded specially for this CD are written and performed by: Rusó Sala, Dani Caracola, Mike Wild and Roc Casagran with Cesk Freixas.

What do we need to get it done?

To get this CD published we need to cover 2300€ which include:

• Manufacture of 1000 CDs

• Taxes and other related copyright expenses (Canon SGAE, etc)

• Studio Sessions time to record 4 previously unreleased songs. Recorded specially for the CD (by Rusó Sala, Mike Wild, Dani Caracola and Roc Casagran with Cesk Freixas)

What if we get more money?

If we get more money than the 2300€ expenses of the CD making we are going to use it to organise more activities or publish more products related to The Recovery of Historical Memory.

Schedule/Timing

The CD will be available around the 22nd of december of 2014. For those who live out of Barcelona might be a few days later.
