Directed by members of 15M Audiovisual Comite, this documentary talks about, deals with the intimacy of a people revolution, throught the eyes of a generation who has decided to change the world starting in the public squares.
This is the story about the awakening of a new collective conscience: the “Spanish Revolution”
The 15M movement from the inside “I love you, I respect you, I need you”, is the story of the encounter of people coming from a great social, political and economic diversity who became interconnected and created roots of outrage until they met in one place: Madrid’s 0 Km, the Puerta del Sol.
On the 15th May 2011, through the metaphor of camping in the square, the utopia came true. A new paradigm begins; a new form of organisation in horizontal assemblies emerges, spreads through all the squares in Spain, and is part of a planet-wide global revolution and the awakening of a new collective conscience.
We are members of the audiovisual commission born during the Sol camp: Audiovisol. A group of audiovisual workers, who met in the campsite creating this commission as others commissions were created too, staying in the camp night and day and in every call of the movement. In the Audiovisual tent both a news program and an internet tv channel (MADRID.TOMALAPLAZA.NET/TV) were created. The general assemblies and the extraordinary demostrations were broadcasted live and, most important of all, a new citizen journalism net started to work.
After the clashes in several Arab countries demanding democracy, claiming the governments for actually develop real democracies, the people starts to ask themselves about the true in their own political systems. As a response from calls of different groups of protesters, the campsite appeared spontaneously in Plaza del Sol. There, they organize themselves in an horizontal way, the citizens choose resistence as a demand for a real and participative democracy.
WHAT WE WANT
We would like to bring the spectator into a cinematopgraphic experience in which he/she feels immersed in the 15M movement from within, all that happened since the first night sleeping in the square, the creation of the commissions, the assemblies, or the marches of the “indignados” from every corner of Spain to Madrid.
We would like to amplify the voice of those who have not had a voice until then, the ones who found their place for expression, encounter and listening in these squares.
We would like to show the great respect that drove the movement to receive anyone interested in the campsite, no matter where they came from.
We hope that the spectator feels as attracted for the movement as to arise the uncontrollable need to join it.
