WHAT IS INDALA?

Welcome to the birth of a new sound.

After decades traveling to stages around the world, being part of key projects in our folk music scene (Riobó, Lizgairo, Entretrastes, Beladona) and accompanying great masters like Rodrigo Romaní, Uxía, Anxo Lorenzo, and Pancho Álvarez, the time has come to take a definitive evolutionary step.

I am Xosé Liz, and I present to you INDALA, my new recording project. A brave, powerful, and energetic proposal born to break the mold.

In this album, the main protagonist and guiding thread is a completely innovative and unprecedented instrument in this genre: the solid-body electric bouzouki.

Forget everything you thought you knew about traditional plucked string instruments; INDALA travels from the essence of the most traditional and folk music to the frontiers of the most avant-garde symphonic and progressive rock, evoking the power and magic of artists like Dan Ar Braz, Moving Hearts, Mark Knopfler, and Pink Floyd.

To bring this album to life, I surrounded myself with an extraordinary band that brings together the best of Galician folk and traditional talent.

Marcos Campos: Bagpipes and flute.

Chuchi Cuadrado and Antón Lago: Guitars.

Jorge Juncal: Accordion and keyboards.

This album also features the magic and sensitivity of Patri Seoane's extraordinary voice, as well as magnificent collaborations with Alba Faro Luni Ruiz and Luis Peixoto.

Together, we achieve a perfect balance between electric textures, untamed rhythms, and melodies that speak directly to the soul.

Recording and producing an album with the quality and technical level that INDALA strives for requires a great collective effort.

WHO WE ARE The INDALA

Project was born almost two years ago with the idea of ​​releasing my second musical work, this time dedicated to an instrument that has accompanied me for nearly three decades and is so well known in folk and Celtic music: the BOUZUKI.

From the first moment I thought of Jorge Juncal as the artistic producer of INDALA.
The idea was to achieve a sound and arrangements completely different from the folk fusion formats of the time, where originality in the creative process would be the protagonist.

The sound we were looking for was solid, dynamic, and breaking with established formulas...we wanted to compose songs with the necessary duration to express what we wanted to convey, without adhering to the "use and discard" music conventions so unfortunately common today.

The folk fusion with the Symphonic and Progressive Rock of Genesis, Dire Straits, or Pink Floyd was a perfect fit for the solos, intros, soundscapes, and sonic valleys we wanted to create.

CALENDAR

The recording, mixing, and mastering process will finish at the end of September.

October will be the month of physical production of INDALA's first album.
