“Stardust Krakn’ at Dr.R3C” (Album Debut)

From Barcelona, we are launching our debut album, an exploration of the legacy of jazz and contemporary improvisation, inspired by stardust.

As an international group, this step is very exciting for us, and we want to do it with you!

The goal of this campaign is to help fund the project, by pre-selling physical and digital copies of the album, along with other exclusive rewards.

The album consists of 7 original songs of our own composition, and 1 jazz “standard” from the American songbook (the name of the project might give you a hint). Each original song represents different aspects of our personalities and life experiences. Songs dedicated to loved ones or admired figures, anecdotes from the past, or thoughts and speculations about life, which have evolved from being an individual inspiration of each of us to becoming a collective creation of the four.

Except for the track "The Lady Likes the Swing," which was initially composed by the four of us, born from an improvisation during the soundcheck of a concert; after we were specifically asked to play a "Swing" song, as it was the favorite genre of a woman in the audience, that song is for her.

Who we are

Jazz quartet created in Barcelona, formed by Austin Bassarath (alto saxophone) from Toronto, Sebastian Noren (guitar) from Gothenburg, Ot Granados (electric bass) from Girona, and Hugo Barrio (drums) from Valencia.

We met in Barcelona, a city that breathes music, which managed to unite us both personally and artistically. Four very different personalities that, when brought together, create a unique collective expression. Each one brings their own voice, and it’s in that contrast where we find our identity as a group.

This project is born from that connection: between us, the music, and the moment.

• Promotion and distribution

Expected Timeline

We already have both the album design and the music completed. Additionally, our record label has already sent the information to the distributor, and we will have the physical CDs within 15 business days.

All rewards will be ready to ship when the Verkami campaign ends.
