✍️ ML7 – 30 Years of Graffiti in the Lisbon Metro (1994–2024)
ML7 is the first photobook ever dedicated to graffiti on Lisbon’s metro system.
It documents 30 years of underground expression, capturing the colours, risks, stories, and tension that shaped one of the most iconic — and least seen — graffiti environments in Europe.
With contributions from over 60 writers, photographers and artists, and featuring around 30 first-hand testimonies, the book is the result of 5 years of research, curation and community building. After years of work, the book is now ready to print. This crowdfunding campaign will bring it to life — with your help.

📘 The Book
ML7 is a hardcover book with more than 550 full-color pages, printed on high-quality Arctic Volume White 130g paper, with sewn binding and premium finish.
Format: 210 × 280 mm. Printed in Portugal by a top-tier art book printer (Gráfica Maiadouro).
It features graffiti in Lisbon’s metro from 1994 to 2024, through images from over 60 contributors — many of them unpublished.
It includes 30 first-hand testimonies, presented in both English and Portuguese.
The tone is raw, reflective and documentary, combining action, memory and personal accounts, with a clean, minimalist aesthetic that lets the work speak for itself.

🙋♂️ Who I am?
My name is Pedro Esteves, and this is my first book. I’ve been involved in the graffiti scene for over 20 years — as an observer, collector and occasional participant. ML7 grew out of a desire to preserve the memory of something fragile, intense and often undocumented.
This is not just a photobook. It’s a tribute to those who climbed fences, waited in the dark, and brought colour to a hidden world — and to the community that made this history possible.
