Anita Zengeza

ABOUT ANITA

I am a singer-songwriter from Zimbabwe, currently living and studying in Barcelona. I first began studying music in Zimbabwe, and then moved to Italy to continue with my musical journey, and finally I arrived to Barcelona just over two years ago. I was instantly enchanted by the cultural and musical fusion that I discovered here, and became immersed in many different styles of world music. In Barcelona I managed to find inspiration in myself and in the places, people and sounds around me. I am so excited to finally begin recording my solo debut album, and so excited to be able to share my music with all of you all around the world!!

SOLO DEBUT ALBUM

I have been waiting for a long time to create this CD - it will be a very important step for me!!! My debut album consists of personal compositions that I have been working on over the last few years. These songs speak mainly of the uncertainties and day-to-day situations faced by those living in the diaspora, or those who are searching for calm and tranquillity within an increasingly impersonal society. My music is a rich blend of sounds and colours that have drawn inspiration from many different cultures and personal experiences. The album will have songs in English and Spanish, with an eclectic fun mixture of influences from african, latin, jazz and fusion music. I plan to begin recording the CD in January 2013, and will be recording this album with many talented musicians on the Barcelona music scene.

This project will involve a lot of time and money and planning, so we need

your help to bring this dream to realization. I'm asking for the sum of €3000 as I have calculated that this is the minimum that we will need to fund the whole process from start to finish – recording, mixing, mastering, graphic design and distribution. By supporting us in advance, in return for exclusive rewards such as CD's, private concerts, personalized songs etc. you are contributing to the creation of this album, and your support will be very much appreciated! If we happen to raise more than €3000, we will use the extra money to prepare something exciting for you loyal supporters - for example a beautiful music video!!!
