Let's build La Casa del Ritmo! (The House of Rhythm)

La Casa del Ritmo is more than just a dance school.

It will be a collaborative space promoted by twerkyourlife, where migrants and women entrepreneurs can work on their projects.

Initially focused on dance, it will expand to include training, leadership, and development. Where participants will receive the necessary support and guidance to turn their projects into reality and benefit the Barcelona community.

Why build La Casa del Ritmo?

We dream of…

• Create a place of reference and dissemination of conscious and sustainable joy, where people can dance freely in a caring and respectful environment.

• Spread awareness about urban dance styles such as twerk, champeta, and salsa, along with their original culture.

• Welcome and support projects by migrants and women entrepreneurs.

• Support the local economy by promoting local products and working with local contractors to complete the project.

Our objectives

Our goal is to raise a minimum of €5,000 through this crowdfunding campaign. However…

1. If we meet our minimum fundraising goal. We can start dreaming and renting the premises.

2. If we triple our minimum goal, we will have the resources for the materials needed for the renovation works of the premises.

3. With €25,000, we open in September!

4. If we reach €35,000, we will make a construction documentary of La Casa del Ritmo!

The project

We are embarking on a project to transform an empty space into a hub of creativity, enjoyment, and the joy of living, through dance, laughter, and good humor.

With your support, we can rent the space and customize it to ensure comfort.

We envision a place where people of all ages can learn various urban dance styles and engage in activities that promote communication among family members of all ages, within a secure, caring, and respectful environment.

Moreover, we aspire to establish a conducive atmosphere where migrants and women entrepreneurs can develop their projects in Barcelona.

Book: Charlas con Mamá (Talks with Mom)

It is a book written and published in 2021 by Ana Chinchilla, creator of La Casa del Ritmo. It is available in paper or Kindle version.

In this book, Ana tells us the story of three generations: grandmother, mother, and daughter, and how situations are repeated in each generation, although external circumstances change. Until someone decides to break the unconscious loyalties of pain.

Online classes and community

We are aware that part of our community does not reside in Barcelona. For this reason, we will open the possibility of doing live and delayed classes.

Construction documentary: La Casa del Ritmo

In a society obsessed with the end result, we often forget that true learning occurs during the process.

We want to create a documentary consisting of interviews with members of the twerkyourlife community. The aim is to help reshape the collective perception of dance, with a special focus on twerking.

We are in urgent need of new perspectives to help build new realities.

We strongly believe that this construction begins with the people.

Who I am?

I have been helping people, especially women, for 8 years to connect with their bodies through twerking with my twerkyourlife project in various studios in Barcelona.

I want La Casa del Ritmo to not only be the home of twerkyourlife but also the home for other projects of migrants and entrepreneurial women like me.

I am Colombian. I migrated to Barcelona in 2010 to pursue a master's degree in Food Development and Innovation, and I fell in love with this city.

I have a degree in Chemical Engineering, and I enjoy supporting the development of projects in different areas.

Timeline of the project

We are working to open the studio in January 2025.

All rewards will be available for collection after the opening, except for the documentary planned for Spring 2025.
