“Bonnie Scotland” is a bilingual edition (English and Spanish) photobook that was born as a homage of Scotland. It is more than just a photography book; it's an immersive journey that will transport you to the breath-taking landscapes, rich history, and vibrant culture of Scotland. This book is a love letter to Scotland that will take you on an unforgettable wandering through Scotland's most enchanting places and will leave an indelible mark upon your heart.

This softcover book showcases over 120 high-quality photographs across 136 full-colour pages, and it is a bilingual edition, featuring text in both English and Spanish alongside each picture. It is printed in an A5 landscape format; size of 15x21cm (closed) or 15x42cm (open). The cover is crafted from 300gsm premium coated paper with a matte finish, while the interior features durable offset 150gsm Fedrigoni Symbol freelife satin paper.

In Bonnie Scotland you'll see breath-taking castles, charming towns, and wild, untamed landscapes that will leave you breathless, and you'll discover the history behind some of Scotland's most famous landmarks and gain insights into the country's rich cultural heritage.

As someone who's deeply passionate about travel and photography, exploring Scotland's hidden corners has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From standing in awe of its majestic mountains to losing myself in the tranquillity of its lochs and visiting its dramatic cliffs or fascinating castles, which allowed me to travel back in time and immerse myself in its past history.

Why I need your support

The book has already been successfully completed at my own expenses. The objective of the crowdfunding campaign is to provide you with the opportunity to secure a copy in advance and help me determine the initial print quantity of books I need to print for this first edition. Your support will bring Bonnie Scotland to life, and all funds raised will be exclusively dedicated to printing and delivering the book to you.

Whenever possible, the rewards will be personally delivered, when this is not feasible, they will be sent by postal mail. For international shipments outside Spain and United Kingdom, please select the International Shipping reward in addition to the chosen reward.

Timeline

We anticipate printing the book and the bookmarks on the 1st of November, with shipments scheduled to begin on the 15th of November. If you purchase the book now, during the Verkami campaign, you can expect to receive it in early December, just in time for Christmas!

About the author

I am Manel Quiros, a visual artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Over the past 13 years, I have been immersed in Scotland’s captivating art, architecture, and heritage, which have profoundly inspired my work. In 2017, this inspiration led me to publish 'Faces of Edinburgh,' a book that documents the remarkable individuals shaping Edinburgh's identity. Now, driven by the same inspiration, I am excited to embark on a more ambitious project, 'Bonnie Scotland,' which explores both the well-known and hidden gems of this beautiful country.

While I haven't sailed with pirates or conquered Everest, I have travelled to distant lands, capturing countless photographs and documenting the lives and customs of diverse cultures. I love finding humour in anything and I have made my life’s goal to be as creative as possible towards everything I do. Along my journey, I have been honoured with numerous awards, each one cherished. Additionally, I had the privilege of being a TEDx speaker for the University of Edinburgh. I strongly believe in the power of teamwork, community, and collaboration, so let’s be friends. Better yet, let’s conquered Everest!

When will I receive my book?

The books will be sent in November ensuring they are delivered earlier December, ready for Christmas if purchased as a gift.

When and where are the books being printed?

The books will be printed on the 1st of November. They will be printed at La Imprenta CG in Spain.

What happens if the funding goal is not reached?

Upon selecting your chosen reward amount, your contribution will be processed, and the corresponding charge will be applied. In the unfortunate event that the campaign is unsuccessful, the funds will be refunded.
