Help me save the only flower shop in Priorat!

La Floristeria

I have been running La Floristeria, the only flower shop in Priorat, for 6 years. InJanuary I was informed that I had to leave the business premises. I washeartbroken when I found out, but I decided to continue fighting for LaFloristeria. Since the florist’s opened in 2016, there have been some difficult times, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, with the consequences we all know it’s had for small businesses. Now, we are facing a relocation which will surely be positive, although there needs to be another significant investment. This move, although it is a challenge, will be a new beginning for La Floristeria. We will have a new shop and, with that, a renewed image and concept. The space will be adapted and made to measure to turn it into a floral workshop where we can continue to offer a wide range of plants and flowers, as well as design and create from the heart for all of you.

About the rewards

As it should be, a significant part of the rewards will be products and activities from La Floristeria. The remaining rewards will be products from other female artisans from Priorat. Like this, we also take the opportunity to promote the products of these women who contribute to giving Priorat such artisanal richness.

In 2020, sisters Mercè, Elena and Marina founded this small family creamery in Bellmunt del Priorat. Raised with values of sustainability and respect for nature and in a family in contact with agriculture and livestock farming, the three sisters wanted to transform their self-consumption into retail products and, with that, help revalue the primary sector. In a short time, their raw goat's milk cheeses have created a name for themselves in the market, and you will find the sisters at fairs, markets and wine events, among others.

The work of this painter and illustrator is based on the search for new shapes, formats and colors, with a combination of various techniques such as screen printing or painting, among others. The artist always focuses on details of everyday life and often presents women enjoying the little things. Her pieces are exhibited in galleries, companies and private homes around the globe, and the artist continues her lifelong learning and her evolution in the art world.

Venus la Universal venusuniversal

This winery, located in the Montsant wine appellation, is a project started by Sara Pérez (Mas Martinet) and René Barbier Meyer (Clos Mogador) in 1999, before the wine appellation was created. The couple single-handedly founded this winery after training at the family wineries of the Priorat wine appellation, which led with others the Priorat wine revolution of the 1980s. The winery has always practiced organic farming, seeking to restore the natural balance, and has become a flagship winery through its philosophy and its wines: Venus and Dido.

The rewards can be picked up at La Floristeria and will also be delivered or sent toyour home depending on where you are.

Who am I

I came to Priorat over 7 years ago to study winemaking and fell in love with the place. Although I love the world of wine, I have been a florist for more than 20 years, a profession I started learning from my grandmother Paquita. As chance would have it, the flower shop in Falset was closing at the time, and I had the opportunity to take it over. Something told me that I had to bet on that, and I decided to take over and reinvent a business in an area I did not know and where nobody knew me either. Today, I dare to say I feel Priorat is part of me and, why not say it, I am part of it.

What will your contributions be used for?
