Let's raise the goal to make this project bigger!

Thanks to all the people who have collaborated, I have reached the goal in half the time of the campaign. I have reached my first goal of 6500€ to cover the costs of the recording of the album and there are many people who are willing to continue collaborating. Therefore, I propose a new challenge: the recording of a video clip that will accompany the pre-release of the album.

All the backers who have collaborated and will collaborate from now on, will receive an exclusive making of this videoclip.

Here I am...

I was 18 years old when I came to live from Marbella to Barcelona, alone and practically with the clothes on my back, hoping to find in music a way of life, and I'm getting it, but I want more and better. So, here I am, orchestrating how to materialize my first solo album after many musical adventures throughout 19 years of exclusive dedication to the world of music in different facets, with several albums released with previous bands (Lenacay and Aire, both with two albums released) in which I have contributed some of my own songs, and many others in which I have collaborated.

Well, it turns out that, after all, I still have a burning flame deep down in my soul...

Why?

Because I still have something left to do: record an album as Paula Domínguez. I have something inside me that lights up and pushes me to take this musical adventure that requires involving all the people so that, together, we can achieve it.

At 38 years old, I feel that I am more prepared and confident than ever to do what I have ahead of me and that I can take advantage of all the experience I have accumulated over the last few years.

Therefore, I will put all the love and energy that these songs, which have been given to me "as if they had fallen from the sky", deserve.

About the album

Bendita ilusión " is the result of a vital and musical maturity that is reflected in the theme of the lyrics that reflect emotions, reflection and contemplation of the details and important values of life.

9 songs in which this will be reflected in a musical context for which I have decided to count with some of the best musicians of the national and international scene, with some of whom I have coincided sometime in a stage or project.

They are Munir Hossn and Javi Martín on bass, Carlos Montfort on violin, David Domínguez on percussion, and Luis Robisco on guitars and production, and Kquimi Saigi, on keyboards and production as well. All of them with an impeccable resume.

I would also love to have a couple of special collaborations that I won't reveal for now (it's a surprise!), and that would give a very special color to some of the songs.

Mixing and mastering will be in charge of Arnau Figueres.

How it sounds

The sonority of the album combines the thematic of the lyrics with a novelty that I have recently introduced in my way of interpreting, which are the vocal glissandos added to short vibratos in the middle of some syllables and that give it a flamenco-andalusian identity. All this, contextualized in an instrumental with acoustic arrangements where rhythmic elements of percussion and flamenco guitars predominate, in combination with electronic elements and some synthesizers.

This is one of the most recent videos I have made. My way of interpreting this song by Rodrigo Amarante is representative of the style that you will find in most of the songs of Bendita ilusión in relation to the "Arabic" glissandos and vibratos that I have mentioned.

About the campaign

This is a micro-patronage campaign with rewards. The way it works is that with your economic contribution you help me to finance my project and, in exchange, I offer a series of articles, experiences and my gratitude in spurts.

With this Verkami, what I intend is to make you protagonists of this adventure, that you are part of it with name and surname. =)

If in the term of the campaign (40 days) we do not reach the goal (6.500€), all the money collected from your contributions will be returned to you completely.

By the way, who am I?

I graduated in higher musical studies in the modality of flamenco by Taller de Músics in 2014. For almost 20 years I have worked and collaborated with artists such as Santiago Auserón, Rosalía, Hugo Cobo (OT), Cris Juanico, Maika Makovski, Frank Diago, Arcángel, Kiki Morente and Argentina, and in projects such as the Cuban Sound Project, by Demetrio Muñiz (musical director of Buenavista Social Club), the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, the Orquesta Sinfónica del Vallès, the Municipal Bands of Barcelona and Santiago de Compostela, among others, and I have performed in national and international festivals on tours with Lenacay (founded by the founders of Ojos de brujo) and Patáx (Greece, Korea, United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Italy, Lithuania... ).

I have appeared in TV shows such as La marató de Tv3, Tu cara no me suena todavía (2017), El hormiguero and La voz (2019), on Antena 3, and I have a tutorial on Youtube, which has made my different musical facets known internationally.

Currently, I record choirs in studio for advertising and television commercials ( Tu cara me suena and Operación triunfo) and I have recorded voices in songs by artists such as Rebeka Brown, Cris Juanico, Antonio José and Il divo, among others.

I have combined my work as an artist for 12 years with teaching as a vocal technique teacher, as director of different choirs and as an entrepreneur with 3 online singing courses designed by myself and that can be found on my website.

What will your contributions be used for?

The purpose of this Verkami is to find support for the financing of my first solo album. All contributions will go only to the release of the album, whose investment I estimate to be around 6500€:

-Production and pre-production: recording, mixing and mastering of the album.

-Graphic design, photography and manufacture of the album.

-Recording expenses: musicians and studio fees.

-Expenses derived from crowdfunding: shipping, taxes, percentage of the verkami platform and payment platforms.

(The promotion plan, distribution and videoclip shooting are not included in this campaign).

Planned timetable

The planned date to start recording the album is mid-October until, depending on each musician's agenda, we finish it, but this will never be later than January 2023.

In January we will release a first single, in February a second one, and the third one will be in March, accompanied by the full album. This will be the target date for its release.
(If I manage to reach the target, some of the rewards you will receive, will be available from January and others from March).
