"Reflejos" is the new show of the company CircoCeive, a piece that talks about the importance of human perspective and how it interferes in the way we interact with the world.
The same situation seen from the prism of happiness, hope or calm, is approached in a completely different way than when we approach it from sadness, uneasiness or anxiety, resulting in a completely opposite direction of our lives from the same starting point.
It is a show with a philosophical background, treated from the comedy and with the intention of making you laugh, cry and above all reflect on what is the reflection with which you identify and how it affects your life.
I introduce myself: my name is Jorge Méndez and the company. Circo Ceive is my solo project, nice to meet you!
After working in several collective projects based in France, Italy and Spain, in 2019 I felt the need to create a personal project that would allow me to express myself through my own language, developed throughout those years of research and collective creation. From that need, Circo Ceive was born
With creative freedom as a flag and as a tribute to my origins (Galicia), with the verb "Ceivar" I bring together these two concerns since in Galician it means, among other things: "to give freedom".
Likewise, the idea of freedom was the germ of this show, investigating about that which limits our perception and does not allow us to see beyond, to relativize things, to find a balance...
About the Rewards
Thanks to your collaboration we will make the project go ahead. As a thank you for your help I want to offer you great rewards that you can only access through verkami.
Among them you can get, for example, tickets for the show of your choice and other great options such as:
Flyers, stickers and dedicated posters of "Reflejos".
Online classes and face-to-face workshops of physical humor and eccentric acrobatics (Slapstick).
The possibility of carrying out a physical humor and eccentric acrobatics (Slapstick) workshop in your space or association.
Advice and choreographic work (external view) of Slapstick to help you in the creation of your number/show.
1 performance of the show "Reflejos" in your city.
In addition, all contributions will receive a special mention in the networks. Those people who collaborate with a greater economic contribution (+100€), will be mentioned as co-producers of the show.
Conditions of the rewards:
It's possible that the name doesn't ring a bell, but... if I tell you about Buster Keaton or Charles Chaplin...?
Stumbles, slips, falls... slapstick is a comedy genre based on clumsiness and accident, which was very fashionable in the twentieth century thanks to silent films and is still widely used in clowning, cinema, theater, cartoons... an incredibly versatile tool that ranges from object manipulation to eccentric acrobatics, making it an all-rounder.
Since 2014 I have been teaching intensive and regular workshops, as well as advising and choreographing routines, numbers and shows to companies that want to play with the poetics of disaster.
What will your contributions be used for?
The show is in the last phase of creation, with one more residency to be completed in October 2022.
Valuing people's work, energy and time is fundamental, the only way towards self-management and individual freedom. From this vision, the contributions will go to pay for the work of the people who are part of the project and other expenses derived from the production such as:
Artistic personnel (lighting design, artistic direction, sound space design).
Advertising and image (photography, video, posters, etc.)
Others (Hall rental, administrative expenses...)
Once the Verkami is finished (and hopefully achieved the goal) I will get down to work to finish closing the calendar of workshops so you can decide in which you most want to participate and to close the date of completion of the creative process and premiere so you can enjoy the show live. The idea is to premiere in November 2022.
I think it is important to remember briefly how Verkami works, to explain why your help is essential to make visible and share the campaign in your social networks, with your friends and family. All this because, if the goal of the campaign is not reached, the project will not receive any of the money contributed (it would be returned to you).
If you want to know me or the project a little more, I'll leave you here my networks:
