What is the Ebneri Expedition ?
This is a 10-day research Expedition to the most remote areas of Fez-Mequinez (Morocco) in search of the latest specimens of the Ebner´s Skink ( Chalcides ebneri ), one of the most threatened animals on the planet and we barely know anything about.
This beautiful reptile species is listed by IUCN as critically endangered and has not been reported since 1970.
The aim of this expedition is to rediscover it and pave the way for establishing natural protection zones for the species and carry out an environmental education campaign among the inhabitants of the area to make them aware of the importance of preserving this wonder of nature.
Moreover, other field work will be carried out in parallel during the expedition to analyze the conservation status of other species of local fauna and, thus be able to establish measures to protect and preserve them.
