A Queer Tale (2021)

Hello everyone! First of all, we want to thank you for the time you spent being here.

A Queer Tale (2021) is a story that we began to propose in October 2020. With it, we intend to convey a new way of representing the conflicts of the * queer * collective, with special emphasis on social constructions to which that we must face when we leave the established social norm.

AQT seeks a new approach to represent these problems, focusing on the internal conflict that implies the acceptance of one's own identity when it does not follow the socially accepted gender roles.

To achieve an accurate and adequate vision we have been inspired by different audiovisual products such as "La Veneno", "Pose", "Disclosure" or "Hollywood"; and in readings by various authors such as J. Butler, Paul B. Preciado and M. Foulcault, among others. All of them deal with gender identity and sexual diversity.

The short film is planned as a pilot episode for a miniseries. Currently, it is our Final Degree Project, for the degree in Audiovisual Communication at the Jaume I University. We are convinced that we have a beautiful story in our hands; so much so that we intend to present the final result to festivals, pitchings and contests.

Karma is a young nurse who lives tormented by his own sexual identity. After several emotionally difficult events, his life is predisposed from the bar of a pub to a 180º turn.

The rewards represent, from our point of view, a thank you for your participation and trust. You don't know how much we value each and every one of your contributions. For this reason, we have proposed a series of options with which you will have different alternatives to collaborate with us, depending on your purchasing power and degree of involvement in the project.

We are a team made up mainly of students from different fields of the audiovisual sector; from Audiovisual Communication, Design and creative technologies, Graphic Design, Interpretation ...

Our struggle is based on the need to want to show the social injustices that today continue to threaten the common welfare of our society.

We are a team with an immense desire to create, discover, innovate and claim; and for this reason, we now seek to bring * A Queer Tale * to life.

Most of the money raised will be invested in per diem, transportation, space rental, reward material and technical material. We also have a percentage dedicated to props, makeup material and health products to carry out the project with all the Covid-19 prevention measures.

El 15 de mayo finalizó el rodaje de A Queer Tale, y comenzamos a trabajar en la fase de post-producción. Continuamos trabajando en este proyecto con el fin de conseguir una resultado digno del esfuerzo y las energías invertidas por parte del equipo.

Calculamos que a principios de junio contaremos con un borrador del resultado final, con el fin de presentarnos al pitching de Curt Creixent, organizado por el Instituto Valenciano de Cultura y la Generalitat Valenciana. Esperamos que éste sea el debut en nuestro largo recorrido de festivales, pitchings y concursos.

El resultado final de A Queer Tale estará disponible a partir del 1 de julio. Momento en el cuál comenzaremos a enviar las recompensas.
