Hi! We are Laia, Claudia and Rita, and we are very excited to share with you our film project. With this campaign, you can help us make it real!

Lapse is a short film conceived as a Direction Thesis of our university degree in Audiovisual Communication. It’s a story about a reencounter one night in Barcelona. The film wishes to capture the bond, the memory and the frustration of a character who represents the lost generation.

We want to address a meeting with the past where dependence and idealization of memory will be key points for the development of history, where feelings such as melancholy and nostalgia will emerge through the night.

We want to express a generational experience through an urban aesthetic and a story conveyed through the image, where movement and non-movement will take on great importance. We want to locate the story of the night in Barcelona, specifically in the neighborhood of Poblenou and Marina, where we want to make a portrait of the Gala accompanied by the city, which will be changing throughout the story. Finally, the beach will also have a certain role to play, a valuable space for the two characters and their relationship.

When Gala unexpectedly comes across Adri, feelings of nostalgia and lust will be awaken. However, that night together will remind them of everything they once were and everything they’re not anymore.

Ravin Giri: I’m an actress, I studied at schools like Tracart and Nancy Tuñón. I am currently studying at Laura Jou and at the same time I am finishing my studies in Psychology. Lapse has given me the opportunity to bring to life Gala’s character, and getting to experience her relationship with Adri has been a super interesting bumpy ride. When they meet again, he reminds Gala of everything they once were and everything they are not anymore, which had me thinking of all the nostalgia, desire and other contradictory feelings such encounters arise in us. From the very first moment I knew I wanted to play a character going though such a complex situation, and I hope everyone can empathize with Gala as much as I have.

Oscar Sanz: I'm not an actor, I'm usually on the other side of the camera. I have studied audiovisual design, and now I am doing a music production course, but as a child I did theater and some commercials, and I have always felt very comfortable in front of a camera, I suppose I was born a bit of a showman ... This time I will play Adri , reliving recent personal experiences, in an unexpected reunion with Gala, a very special person for my character.

The project is guided by Elena Martín, actress and director of the feature film "Julia Ist".

We also count on the support of Aitor Martos (Entre dos aguas, La propera pell) regarding the production, and the guidance of filmmakers such as Carla Simón (Estiu 1993), Celia Rico (Viaje al cuarto de una madre) and Pep Garrido (Sense Sostre).
