UNPLUGGED

UNPLUGGED is the debut album of SOFT, which consolidates the project of a professional trumpet ensemble in Spain.

What is SOFT?

SOFT is a chamber ensemble composed exclusively by trumpets. Its name is an acronym that stands for Spanish Original Flugels and Trumpets, which depicts the use of flugelhorns as well as any kind of trumpet or bugle by its members. All these instruments combined achieve different colours in original ways that are demanded by the repertoire written for this ensemble.

On this CD, two of the works count on percussion as well.

Why SOFT?

SOFT was born based on two main ideas. On one hand, the desire of making music at the best level by proffesional players and, above all, by good friends; on the other hand, approaching the listener to the repertorie and possibilities of the trumpet ensemble, more popular in countries like the United States of America but with no tradition in countries like Spain.

Who is SOFT?

SOFT is composed by nine spanish proffesional trumpeters:

Moreover, this project would not have been possible without the commitment and help of our musical director, Santiago Blanco Cabaleiro.

In SOFT, we think that sharing music and helping other musical collectives is very important. That is why we decided to collaborate with DaLaNota, a musical social programme whose mission is to educate disadvantaged people for every aspect of life through music.
