WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
ELECTRIC FENCE have been travelling around stages since the early 2000's, with two records under our belt; so, the just-recorded songs which form MOTORKILLER will mean our third album. Money for recording and mixing has come from the band's funds and from its components' personal cash, but when it comes to release-an-album process, there's still some stuff to be done; as our account book is already quite poor, we've decided to release this crowdfunding project so we can gather these extra funds we need to finish the payment for mastering, and also for making possible the production of the CD copies and the merch (tees, stickers...)
We plan to make the album release show this spring in Madrid!
Sounds odd, yeah, but in spanish it's even worse: micromecenazgo. Wow.
Actually it's very simple:
1) We've already got our songs recorded and mixed, but we ain't enough money for producing the CD copies.
2) You are a young, dauntless R'n'R lover with -let's say- €10 in your pocket willing to be spent in that good ol' music you love.
3) In order to make this possilbe, we turn upside down the usual process: instead of you buying the CD in, for example, a concert, you contribute with those €10 by this crowdfunding platform, becoming thus a patron, and we use that money for paying the production of your reward (the CD, t-shirt...)
4) We send your reward to your home or you pick it up in the album release show, as indicated in the reward description. (Shippings out of Spain will require an extra charge, please feel free to ask any issue)
That simple? Almost:
We've got a 40-day deadline to reach the goal we've set for ourselves: €1500. If withing this period we haven't achieved that goal through your help, the payment of no patron will become effective. But if we reach or go beyond that goal (this would be great!!) we'll proceed to make effective all the transactions and we'll be able to start producing the CD's, tees, etc.
In the right side of your screen you can see a detailed listing of all the rewards.
** WHATCHA GONNA USE ME MONEY FOR?**
Expensive champagne, mountains of coke and service women...
Well actually not. Seriously, the breakdown would be the following:
€650 - CD copies ( Jewel Box, 12-page booklet)
€500 - T-shirts and stickers
€350 - Mastering's last payment
AM I GOING TO LIKE IT? HOW DO I KNOW?
If you are already here, that's a sign somehow, but if you want to know us better and listen to our music, we encourage you to follow in social media and dive into our songs, photos, etc.

And if you want to download for free our two previous albums you can do it in Our Bandcamp
OUR PHILOSOPHY: Copyleft & Crowdfunding
If you already know us, you'll probably know we've always worked with Creative Commons licences when it comes to publish our music (AKA Copyleft), which in essence consist in allowing free copy and reproduction of audiovisual works with a series of conditions (giving proper credit to the authors, not having any profit out of it...); our intention is to keep going this way. The possibilities that crowdfunding world opens to us are huge in that sense, because it ables us to contact directly with you, our patrons, which are the final consumers of our music, with no intermediaries.
BUT... IF I'M GONNA BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD UR MUSIC 4 FREE IN THE FUTURE... DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO PAY 4 IT? WHAT DO I GET?
You get the fact of being able to enjoy our music exclusively, because we won't offer the whole album for free downloads in no digital platform until 6 months after its release. You get being able to have in your hands the fruits of our labour and effort: hours and hours spent in the rehearsal room, out on the road, locked up at the recording studio captured in something so small but so beautiful as a nicely edited CD, with all that means.
But above all you get to take part in this, being a direct participant of the MOTORKILLER project, since we ain't gonna be able to produce the album without your boost and impulse; you get to know you're helping to keep ROCK alive and getting stronger thanks to a quest for new models to set out an honest, healthy and feasible alternative to the ill music industry of our time.
THAT COVER THING... HOW DOES IT WORK?
Well we've been thinking this might be an incentive to encourage you to participate: the bigger your help is, the more votes you get for deciding which cover are we playing in the album release show, so we'll soon publish a list of possible songs (yes, we'll ellaborate that list!) from which you'll be able to vote for your favourite.
